Syftet med denna studie är att göra en djupare beskrivning av våldets konstruktion i barnprogram. Avsikten med studien är att fokusera på våldets innehåll och konstruktion. Tidigare forskning om våld i barnprogram består av hur barnen upplever våldet, inte våldets form och innehåll. I den forskning som har analyserat våldets konstruktion har det inte analyserats barnprogram. Studien är genomförd kvalitativt med semiotik och konnotation som metod, samt med en egengjord analysmodell. De teoretiska referensramarna består av: en våldsdefinition och hur våld kopplas ihop med relationell makt, samt symbolisk interaktionism och symboliseringsprocessen. Resultaten och analysen består av vilka våldshandlingar som finns, hur dessa handlingar kan tolkas få symbolisk betydelse och vad det i så fall skulle förmedla. Slutsatsen är att våldshandlingar kan tolkas på olika sätt beroende på vem som utför handlingen, vem som blir utsatt för handlingen och i vilken kontext handlingen uppstår. I den sista delen av uppsatsen diskuteras resultaten i abstraherad kontext samt möjlig vidare forskning.  

The purpose of this study is to conduct a more detailed description of violence in children’s programs on TV. The purpose of the study is to focus on the violent content and the construction of the violence. Previous research within the field of violence in children’s programs consists of how children experience violence, not what violence is constructed of. In the previous research that has been analysing the construction of violence, it has not been analysing children’s programs. This study was conducted qualitatively with semiotics and connotation as a method, as well as with my own analysis model. The theoretical framework consists of a definition of violence and violence coupled with relational power, and the theoretical framework also consists of symbolic interactionism and its process of making symbols. The results and the analysis consists of a report of which types of violence that exists, and how these actions can be interpreted getting symbolic importance, and what that would convey. The conclusion is that violence can be interpreted in different ways depending on who is doing the act, who is exposed to the act and in which context the act occurs. In the last part of the paper I discuss the results on a more abstract level, and then possible further research.
