Abstract [en]

The opportunity created by the Western soldiers leaving Afghanistan in August 2021 was seized by the Taliban, who used it to overthrow the government and seize control of the nation. The main target of the Taliban is Afghan women's education by limiting their access to society and educational resources. This study delves into women's narratives by highlighting the strategies they adopt to navigate challenges and develop resilience practices in the face of diversity. Thus, by delving into these stories, the study raised awareness of educational inequality issues and offered fresh perspectives on women's rights. To conduct this analysis, the study implemented the primary qualitative methodology based on an interview guide to collect the information. The interview respondents were selected from three major groups, Pashtun, Hazara, and Tajik, and the total number of individuals was ten. After collecting information through interviews, specific patterns are identified from the data using a thematic analysis approach to reach the study outcome. The main identified patterns are based on the Afghanistan situation before and after 2021 in the context of women's education, parents' and society's support for women's education, and women's empowerment and resilience under the restrictive environment through online and informal access to education. Meanwhile, it has been identified that despite the difficulties and the challenges, women continue to detect alternative access sources to education. Their narratives also highlighted the power of resilience in the restrictive environment by inspiring hope and determination in the upcoming generations.
