This essay aims to show how to integrate archaeological techniques, methods, and principles into practical policework at an outdoor crime scene.“The pig project” is an attempt by me and others to teach crime scene investigators forensic archaeology. By showing how the police authority and the traceability (chain of custody/CoC) gains from using forensic archaeology in practical policework at an outdoor crime scene the author attempts to concretize how this may be done by using “The pig Project” as an example.
