The investigation is built upon articles written about the swedish women´s national soccer team in newspapers during the european championship. The question answered in this essay was what the newspapers have written about the swedish women´s national soccer team during the period 1984-2003 and how their situation is pictured in swedish newspapers . The study showed that journalists to large extent used words suck as both positive and negative description about the Swedish women´s national team and a change to a more positive approach. Words such as for a place in the hearts of te people, nice girls was used. The focus in all articles was on the description of the newspapers and what has been written about the women´s national soccer team and the equality situtation in the articles.
