Abstract [en]
This bachelor’s thesis is an ethnological study with focus on examining adopted Asians life story and how experience in life have shaped their identity today here in Sweden. The study problematizes why these stories and events has happened, why are these events being told and what purpose does the stories of different events have for meaning. The essay discusses what different events do and contribute to the experience that shapes the current individual´s identity.
Based on the theory derived from Narratology and post-structuralism as well as interviews with six adopted Asians resident in Sweden. The essay highlights the complicated ways in how it can be to live as an adopted person and how specific events and experience creates the current identity. The empirical evidence shows how adopted Asians in Sweden creates their present identity through events and experience in their life.
