Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The study shows that artificial intelligence (AI) in small and medium-sized enterprises is portrayed as both a resource and a risk for employees: the technology can increase productivity, job quality, and motivation, but may also generate stress, loss of control, and distrust. For AI to be perceived as beneficial, organizational support in the form of  transparency, skills development, and social dialogue is required. The findings further demonstrate that the consequences of AI are not technologically predetermined, but are shaped through the interaction between technology, leadership, and the work environment.
