    Abstract [en]

    The main purpose of this study is to examine what the factor or factors are to why young exposed Kurdish women stay with their family despite honor-related oppression and violence.

    We have used a qualitative study process consisting interviews with eight young Kurdish women. We have also applied theories such as cultural patterns and aspects of power by Mona Eliasson and normalization process by Eva Lundgren

    With the material from our research we can see that the main and only factor to why the respondents decide to stay with their family is fear of getting killed or beaten.

    This study will provide you as a reader a better understanding of why young exposed Kurdish women decide to stay with their family.

    Abstract [sv]

    Uppsatsen tar ett avstamp i studier av den svenska skolmarknaden. Med företagen som ideal förmås skolorna att med uppgifterna som producenter konkurrera om elever som tar rollen som kunder. Marknadsföringen och synligheten i media blir en förutsättning för överlevnad på denna marknad. Skolmarknaden med dess fria skolval blir problematisk när den ökar segregationen. Problemet blir omfattande i följden vinnarskolor och förlorarskolor.

    Denna studie syftar till att undersöka marknadsföringsbroschyrer och medierepresentationen av fyra skolor i Stockholm, varav två är vinnarskolor och två är förlorarskolor. Teorin om New Public Management används i förståelsen för fenomenet skolmarknad och dess konsekvenser. Genom en innehållsanalys med ett intersektionellt perspektiv av skolornas broschyrer och representationen i media, kunna kartlägga maktasymmetrier. I synnerlighet används Bourdieus kapitaldefinitioner och postkolonial teori för förståelsen av hur segregation uppstått och kvarlever. Detta för att påvisa om etnisk- och socioekonomisk segregation synliggörs i marknadsföringen samt om denna kan bidra till en reproduktion av segregation. En analys av sekundärt insamlad statistik används i definieringen av dem olika skolorna.

    Resultatet visar på en förekomst av etnisk- och socioekonomisk segregation i skolornas marknadsföring och medierepresentation. Empirin av den kvalitativa undersökningen redovisar ett påtagligt samband mellan etnicitet/socioekonomi och studieresultat. Slutsatsen blir att marknadsföringen och medierepresentation påverkar reproduktionen av segregation men de sociala strukturerna är det som upprätthåller fenomenet.

    Abstract [en]

    The common asylum and migration policy of the European Union is a struggle between a strong belief in the protection of human rights and the need of strong and secured borders. This paper highlights the dilemma that occurs in the common asylum and migration policy of the European Union. What happens when the union have to choose between liberal standards with high priorities to human rights and a realistic focus on security? The aim is to study the asylum policy presented in the Stockholm Program, and thereafter evaluate what kind of character the union has itself. By an ideal type analysis of the Stockholm program from 2009, the common asylum policy is divided into either liberal or realistic ideas. The result of the study has shown that the realistic tendencies are stronger than the liberal, which gives the union a character of an unitary state.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this research is to study how journalists in two Caribbean countries, Dominica and Saint Lucia, see their profession in a developing country where freedom of the press is high but where restrictions also occur. Through semi-structured in-depth interviews we will ask thirteen local journalists in the aforementioned countries what they think about journalistic values and ask for their thoughts on the journalists´ role and responsibility in society. We will also ask them about what limitations there might be to accomplish these ideals.

    Since every country differs from another, our study will lean on normative theories, and the study will be based on Hallin and Mancini's work Comparing media systems (2004) and their three models of media.

    According to the respondents in Saint Lucia and Dominica, the main role for the journalists is to report accurate, balanced and fair stories to the audience so that they can make informed decisions in their everyday life. However, the respondents in both countries face challenges in fulfilling these ideals where in Dominica the main challenge is access to information that prevents the press to work on a free basis. In Saint Lucia the respondents state that main obstacles are the “red tape”, i.e., the problematic bureaucratic procedure, that journalists have to deal with when trying to get information, and also threats such as lawsuits and pulled advertisement - something that prevents them from producing free and independent journalism.

    Abstract [en]

    Ever since the heirloom of the 20th century have the implementation of closed and open office structures been cyclical. There is an extensive amount of previous research that focuses on different leadership theories and how they changed and develop over time. Although how the office structure and leadership affect one another is an unexplored area.    

    This study aims to contribute with knowledge and an understanding of how an open respective closed structure affects the leadership. Further it seeks to identify challenges each structure entails on leadership. The study has a qualitative, comparative approach and is based on six interviews with two different companies. One of the companies, Takeda, who has implemented a closed office structure and the other called Nobina, has implemented an open office structure. The six respondents that participated was a manager, middle manager and a worker, one from each company.

    The result showed that the company with a closed structure had a larger focus on every individual, and indications of a situational leadership were found. The open structure however, was characterized by a more available and present leadership. A challenge in the closed structure was that the distance between different positions created a formal feeling in the communication between managers and the workers. The architectural structure in the open office resulted in that all employees were affected by all communication at the workplace, which lead to a challenge for managers of filtering out the essential information. This study concluded that there was no clear relation between office structure and motivation, other components were more decisive.

    #Danmarktoo?: En kvantitativ innehållsanalys av rapporteringen om Metoo i Danmark och Sverige2018Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Denna studie undersöker hur de danska tidningarna Jyllands-Posten och Politiken samt de svenska tidningarna Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet har rapporterat om Metoo. Den undersökta perioden är mellan 15 oktober och 31 december 2017. Genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av totalt 908 artiklar, 221 danska och 687 svenska, har likheter och skillnader i bevakningen, nyhetsvärderingen, om det är män eller kvinnor som skriver och hur man hanterat namnpubliceringar i de båda länderna undersökts.

    Resultatet har analyserats utifrån teorier om nyhetsvärdering, nordiska könspolitiska modeller och teorin om konsekvensneutralitet samt social ansvarsteori.

    Resultatet visar att de svenska tidningarna har publicerat fler artiklar om Metoo än de danska.

    Ett annat resultat är att danska medier i högre grad än svenska valt att namnpublicera. De två danska tidningarna har publicerat fler artiklar om den svenska Metoo-rörelsen än vad de svenska tidningarna publicerat om rörelsen i Danmark. De som skrivit artiklar om Metoo är i högre grad kvinnor i de svenska medierna än i de danska. En annan skillnad syns bland opinionsartiklarna. Majoriteten av opinionstexterna i de båda länderna präglas av ett positivt förhållningssätt till rörelsen. På danska opinionssidor är texter som visar på en negativ inställning dock vanligare. I Sverige är en majoritet av alla texter skrivna av kvinnor, så även opinionsartiklarna. De som skrivit flest opinionsartiklar där ett negativt förhållningssätt uppvisas i de svenska dagstidningarna är kvinnor. I de undersökta danska tidningarna är antalet negativa opinionsartiklar skrivna av män fyra gånger så högt som antalet negativa opinionsartiklar skrivna av kvinnor.

    Slutsatsen är att Metoo-rörelsen fått större genomslag i de undersökta svenska medierna än i de danska.

    Co-authors of branding processes intertwined with entrepreneurial processes: cases from the digital world2019Conference paper (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    The technological development in the last decades and the practice of digital consumption are shifting the conditions of contemporary branding (Denegri-Knott and Molesworth 2010; Sanz 2014). The Internet enriches the possibility of communication around brands as it opens an autonomous arena still very accessible in everyday life. The net is not so much about transactions as about offering an arena for dialogue and relations. But as consumption has become a central lotus for community in our society, the conversation often shifts into a dialogue of transactions. 

    The Internet offers a ‘third space’ where social relations can be playfully constructed, creating a perfect arena for the shaping of a persona. It offers a space for exchange of information and for constituting an audience as members of a community. So participation in the Internet can be both ‘a formal social enterprise’ and ‘an organized public’ involving various forms of interaction between these two (Fish, Murillo, Nguyen, Panofsky and Kelty, 2011). The Internet opens possibilities for consumers to exchange information and sometimes build their own brands, as for instance bloggers, creating a public arena for their taste, suggestions and knowledge. As a consequence, for being an opportunity to building brands, the arena become a platform for these brand builders to develop their entrepreneurial talents.

    Even though many theories and models concerned with strategic branding suggest that brand managers seduce their consumers into consuming products and services, this point of view has been seriously questioned. Instead branding has become understood as a process where several actors contribute imbedded in socio-spatial interactions (Holt, 2004; Lury 2004; Power and Hauge, 2007). When trying to understand how a brand emerges out of the various voices that give meaning and significance to it, Holt (2004) introduces the concept of ‘co-authors’. By this, Holt means that several possible actors influence the symbolic message that is conveyed by a brand. Corporations, consumers, mediators (e.g. critics and agents) and the cultural industry are suggested to be the so-called ‘co-authors of significance’. Following Lury’s (2004, 1) suggestion brand is here understood not as a commodity set but ‘a set of relations between production and services’, emerging out of a network of relationships.

    Researchers in marketing and entrepreneurship (Hills & Hultman 2011, Whalen & Akala 2016) have increasingly incorporated the concepts of effectuation(Sarasvathy 2001) to emphasize the role of stakeholders in the processes of co-creating opportunities, values and markets. Sarasvathy’s (2001) critical view of the traditional marketing approach highlight the role of uncertainty and ambiguity in the marketing process of a new venture start-ups (Read et al 2009; Read & Sarasvathy 2012) and have opened up for compelling new research perspectives and questions in the area of marketing and entrepreneurship. However, the role of the brands and the process of branding in effectuation processes are still undeveloped topics. A proposed research contribution is to incorporate the concept of ‘co-authors’ in the effectuation literature.

    With a focus on how brands emerge out of a network of relations, the purpose of this paper is twofold: (1) to illustrate brands as emerging out of a network of co-authors; and (2) to demonstrate how this process can be integrated into the idea of entrepreneurship as effectuation (Sarasvathy, 2001). The discussion will be illustrated by using two examples of branding processes intertwined with entrepreneurial processes in the digital world.

    One example of this is how the Internet can be, and often is, used for creating ‘celebrity’ (Hackley and Hackley, 2015) or in other words using the possibility offered by the web for ordinary consumers to reach a mass audience. The cause of this celebrity are shifting and sometimes only about somebody making themselves visible on the Internet, like for instance on Youtube, or a fashion blogger building a blog that has turned out to attract consumers.The phenomenon of fashion bloggers initially developing personal brands on the ‘labour market’ and later developing their brands into various entrepreneurial ventures has been acknowledged (Phil 2013). Bloggers’ personal brands have a possible competitive advantage, as their names are already known and established with an audience.Also, the visual economy assemble access through a screen, and it needs celebrities to give visual resonance and market definition to images of consumption (Schroeder, 2005). The cases illustrate how a fashion-blogger and a digital media-entrepreneur build and evolve their initial brand to expand into several well-established ventures.

    Abstract [sv]

    C-uppsatsens huvudsakliga syfte är att undersöka vilka egenskaper som utmärker de opinionsartiklar som delas mest på Facebook. Merparten av uppsatsen bygger på en kvalitativ metod där vi har analyserat åtta artiklar med hjälp av retorisk analys, nyhetsvärderingsteori samt modeller för hur en opinionstext bör utformas. Dessutom innehåller uppsatsen en kvantitativ undersökning av de artiklar som delas mest på Facebook. Där har vi bland annat undersökt var artiklarna är publicerade, vilka ämnen de handlar om och vilken genre de tillhör. I den kvalitativa undersökningen kom vi fram till att de mest delade opinionsartiklarna handlade om aktuella frågor som berör många människor. Det fanns också alltid någon aspekt eller egenskap i texten som gjorde att den utmärkte sig, såsom att skribenten var en elitperson eller skrev utifrån egen erfarenhet.  I den kvantitativa undersökningen kom vi bland annat fram till att en klar majoritet av alla artiklar som delas på Facebook är publicerade av kvällstidningar. Undersökningen visade också att den vanligaste typen av artikeln var nyhetsartiklar som utgjorde 69 % av urvalet, 23 % av urvalet var opinionsmaterial.

    Den slutsats vi drar från den kvalitativa undersökningen är att de mest delade artiklarna oftast är skrivna utifrån personlig erfarenhet. Vi tolkar det som att den personliga erfarenheten förstärker skribentens trovärdighet, ethos, och att det bidrar till att läsarna blir mer benägna att dela artikeln. De slutsatser vi drar från den kvantitativa undersökningen är att de ämnen som de mest delade artiklarna handlar om påverkas av vad som händer i omvärlden, och således ändras över tid.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: This dissertation aims to explore artistic representation investments by property developers. The report aims to analyse how property developers formulate their strategies and how they invest in artistic representation. In addition the report investigates which elements affect their decision to work with artistic representation. These are the research questions that formed the basis for the investigation.

    Frame of reference: The study is done in the light of theories about how different values ​​can be generated based on cultural expressions along with theories about strategies, investment and decision making.

    Method: One municipality and three property developers with ongoing construction projects have been the object for this study. Data were collected through interviews and participation in seminars and through secondary data such as reports and policy documents.

    Conclusion: The study concludes that there is a disagreement between how municipalities and property developers view art. The results show that the property developers do not use capital budgeting as funding for artistic creation. A common finding for all the companies is that they include the artistic interpretation in the overall budget estimate. It was also discovered that the developers themselves believe that they do not have a conscious strategy. However, in the survey, three common factors were identified that are crucial for whether the property developers include artistic representation in their construction projects: financing, the clients requests and the demands of the municipalities. Finally, the results also suggest that property developers do not take into account other values ​​that art and culture can generate.

    Abstract [en]

    This article compares, thematically, two prominent but problematical twentiethcentury critics of nihilism: Martin Heidegger and Carl Schmitt. Both spoke of the spread of a global space, tied to tendencies towards the reduction of everything to a reserve of resources, a development both connected to a pursuit of intense but ultimately insignificant experiences. For Schmitt, nihilism stems from the disconnection of the global order from its European, Christian origins. For Heidegger, nihilism represents, rather, the culmination of a European, metaphysical tradition. Furthermore, while Schmitt appears to see a counterpoint to nihilism in the sacred sites of Christianity, representing the ultimate metaphysical exception of Christian revelation, Heidegger proposes a view of sacred sites as tied to the appearance of a god as something strange and enigmatic, which has often been reduced within Christian, theological thought. In conclusion, I situate the two critiques in relation to Karl Jasper's notion of an Axial Age and the developments of a contemporary global space. This way of situating the two critiques will show how Heidegger actively attempted to handle two fundamental developments which Schmitt sought to elude: the increasingly intense relativisation of Christianity in relation to other major religious traditions, and the relativisation of claims concerning religious revelations and theophanies in relation to the scientific and technological spatiality and temporality of the global space.

    Abstract [en]

    The concept of ‘nihilism’ is ambiguous and has had and continues to be attached to several different usages. This special Focus primarily looks at the ways in which ‘nihilism’, in and following the works of Friedrich Nietzsche, has been understood as specifically tied to a crisis of European culture or civilisation, and has come to be politicised in conjunction with the National Socialist and Fascist movements in Germany and Italy during the twentieth century. Specifically, the individual articles deal with the connection between an understanding of nihilism and what it entails for the question concerning political responsibility. This introductory article presents this thematic, introduces the other contributions, and attempts to situate these debates on nihilism in the context of processes of secularisation. The article retrieves three major themes in relation to the critiques surveyed in this special Focus: nihilism as a crisis of beliefs and values, as an appropriation of religious elements into ideological grand narratives, and as the unshackling of an instrumental approach towards reality, and argues that all of them remain relevant to contemporary debates.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: The study aims to increase knowledge of dealers' purchasing behavior of impulse goods in wholesale trade.

    Methodology: An exploratory survey method has been selected in order to investigate the relatively unexplored topic; buyer behavior of impulse goods in the wholesale. Data has been collected through interview of 27 dealers that conduct business with bulk confectionery sales across Sweden. A semi-structured interview technique has been selected, with a predetermined interview schedule but with space for follow-up questions and discussion.

    Conclusion: The background to this work argued that there is not much research on how retailers reasons when buying convenience products, or also called as impulse items. It is usually the sale of goods such as several of the informants believe is critical to their business existence. Impulse goods which do not require any effort, has little search time and usually are cheap and suits many customers pockets. It was therefore of interest to investigate whether the retailer is acting as their customers when they buy in bulk confectionery, which separated this study and considered to be an impulse to be, by definition, from wholesalers like Axfood Närlivs. What are the factors they take into consideration when choosing a product? How do they reflect on price, quality, delivery, access and communication with the wholesaler?

    Om elever har möjlighet att välja skola genom en så kallad skolpeng, så borde konkurrensen öka. Fler elever som väljer friskolor borde ge sänkta kostnader och bättre resultat. Dåliga skolor slås ut och bra skolor får stanna kvar. Så lyder den enkla grundteorin bakom det fria skolvalet. Men det finns fler variabler att ta hänsyn till. Det är inte så enkelt som det ser ut, i alla fall inte i Sverige. Uppsatsen tittar på tidigare studier och teorier när det gäller konkurrens på skolområdet. Diskussionen gäller inte bara kommunala skolor mot friskolor utan också vinstdrivande mot icke vinstdrivande skolor. När man diskuterar skolkostnader, så kommer man också nästan alltid in på frågan om kvalitet. När det gäller kvalitet som mäts i resultat, så är problemet att olika undersökningar ger olika svar.

    Det finns olika uppfattningar om hur fler friskoleelever påverkar kostnader för kommunala grundskolor. Jag har gjort en totalundersökning av alla Sveriges kommuner under tre år: 2005, 2009 och 2014. Min slutsats är att när man ökar andelen friskolelever, så får de kommunala grundskolorna i genomsnitt ökade kostnader för år 2005 och 2009. År 2014 tyder också på ökade kostnader, men friskolevariabeln är inte lika tydligt signifikant som de andra åren.

    It is important, for companies operating on a homogeneous product market, to understand and adapt to customer needs. Since coffee is a homogeneous product in food retail it is vital for coffee companies to work extensively with differentiation and the fierce competition. The prevailing homogenity makes it difficult for companies to develop the product itself and must therefore work to create added value to the product.

    The purpose of this thesis is to carry out a study on consumer decision-making when purchasing homogeneous products, and to examine how companies work to strengthen their brand and gain market share in a homogeneous product market. The market that this thesis highlights is the coffee market.

    To answer the purpose of this thesis the writers have conducted a questionnaire survey regarding consumers’ decision-making process and interviewed two marketing managers for two major actors on the coffee market. The results of the survey show that the availability and the price are key factors for consumers when choosing coffee, and the generated responses from the interviews emphasize the importance of working with strengthening a brand and finding an identity for the product.

    Modeföretagen i Sverige 2015 befinner sig i en mycket konsumentstyrd bransch där trender uppstår och passerar snabbt, vilket ger en bransch som ständigt förser marknaden med nya varor. Mode är samtidigt råvaruintensiv och lämnar ett avtryck i miljön som påverkar alla. Konsumenterna ställer nu allt högre krav på att varor är producerade mer hållbart och under socialt ansvarstagande, CSR, i alla led. Modeföretagen ansvarar för en produktion av varor som främst sker i länder med lägre kostnad för arbetskraft, vilket medför svårigheter i form av kontroll då avstånden är långa. Vilken relation företaget har till sina leverantörer har således kommit att spela en allt mer avgörande roll.

    Syftet med uppsatsen är att genom en fallstudie undersöka och analysera de överväganden som producerande aktörer på den svenska modemarknaden gör vid val av leverantörer, för att på så sätt belysa de svårigheter de anser finns och vad som är viktigt för deras framgång. Metoden som använts är semistrukturerade intervjuer inom fallstudiens ramar. Sekundärdata har samlats in från press, företagens hemsidor och från mailkorrespondens med branschorganisationer.

    Fallstudien visar att relationen företagen har till sina leverantörer är väldigt viktig för dess framgång. Ett bra leverantörssamarbete ökar företagens chanser till både hållbar produktion och ger en ökad möjlighet till finansiering genom handelskredit. En bra leverantörsrelation ökar även företagens möjligheter till flexibilitet från leverantörens sida med snabbare leveranser som bättre kan möta kundens efterfrågan och minska risken för felbedömningar. Långa avstånd anses som ett problem för modeföretagen och de söker därför närmare produktion inom EU som ger kortare ledtider, en möjlighet till bättre leverantörsrelationer samt ett underlättande av likvärdiga kemikalielagar.

    Syfte: Studien ämnar till att undersöka korrelationen mellan redovisat värde och marknadsvärde med avseende på förvaltningsfastigheter.

    Metod: Studien har tillämpat en kvantitativ metodstrategi där data från kvartalsrapporter och aktiedata kvantifieras följt av att korrelationsanalyser genomförts.

    Slutsats: Signifikanta positiva samband uppmättes för samtliga utvalda redovisningsmått, således kan dessa mått anses vara värderelevanta utifrån studiens korrelationsanalyser och tidigare forskningsresultat.

    Förslag till vidare forskning: En multipel regressionsanalys med fler variabler än de valda i denna studie vore att föredra i framtiden, förslagsvis bör variablerna; förändring i utdelning, intern eller extern värdering i företagen ingå i en sådan studie. Vidare vore det även intressant att se en studie avseende hur företag säkerställer sin värdering av förvaltningsfastigheter. Ifall skillnader går att uppdaga mellan företag som endast gör interna utvärderingar alternativt endast externa utvärderingar eller en kombination av de två.

    Abstract [en]

    This study is aming to examine how municipal instances understand and work to prevent violent extremism. The study illustrates how the local coordinator in a swedish municipality together with representatives from the social service, the school and the police work against autonomous left, white power environment and violent Islamist extremists. I have used Sahlins (2000) theory of crime prevention and Lipskys (2010) theory of street level bureaucracies to analyze the empirical.  To get a deeper understanding how the actors define and work with the problem I have used semistrutcured interviews with a local coordinator, two polices, two field assistants, two polices and one teacher. Even if violent extremism is expression of political opinion or religious belief the municipality means that alienation is the reason why people involve themselves in violent extremism. As a consequense the municipality have integrated the preventing work in their regular crimepreventing work.

     

    The prevention work is characterized of both workdivision, where each profession mind its own working area, and cooperation, wich gives a good view of the situation in the municipality. Since there are consensus that the main goal is to prevent alienation the study picturize a functioning cooperation with few conflicts between the professions that is included in this crimepreventing work.

    I januari 2014 startade Dagens ETC som en ny dagstidning med rödgrön profil.                 

    Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur en rödgrön journalistik ser ut och hur den skiljer sig från en borgerlig tidning. I uppsatsen undersöks om och i så fall hur Dagens ETC skiljer sig från Dagens Nyheter i nyhetsvärdering, perspektiv och gestaltning. Uppsatsen består av tre undersökningar. Genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av nyhetsartiklar från Dagens ETC och Dagens Nyheter undersöks om och hur nyhetsvärderingen i Dagens ETC skiljer sig från nyhetsvärderingen i Dagens Nyheter. Tidningarnas ledare undersöks med en egenutvecklad metod som är både kvantitativ och kvalitativ. Därefter görs en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av utvalda artiklar med det kvantitativa resultatet som utgångspunkt. Syftet med de två sistnämnda undersökningarna är att undersöka ur vilka perspektiv tidningar skildrar samma ämne, samt om tidningarnas ideologiska utgångspunkt syns i ledarna och i nyhetsrapporteringen.  Teorier som har använts är dagordningsteorin, framingteorin och teorier om nyhetsvärdering.

    Resultatet av denna undersökning visar att tidningarna skiljer sig åt både vad det gäller nyhetsvärdering, perspektiv och gestaltning. Deras ideologiska profil präglar både ledarsidorna och nyhetstexterna. Framförallt syns skillnaden i rapporteringen av ekonomi, miljö, arbete, val och jämställdhet.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine how the stock price for a main sponsor to a football club is affected by different match results.

    Theoretical framework: The study uses the efficient market hypothesis as the primary theory. In addition to this, theories of behavioural finance and the weekend effect is used.

    Methodology: The study uses a deductive and positivistic approach. The study is conducted with an event study as the method, with a complementary interview. The event window includes one trading day before and one day after a game. The estimates cover two periods between the football seasons and do not include any games. 

    The study comprises of 466 games from seven European football clubs’ during two seasons (2013/2014 and 2014/2015). Data is collected from seven main sponsors’ share price, with comparative index to measure the average abnormal return (AAR) after a game. Besides this, odds of the games are viewed to see if expectations affect the return, the importance of   weekend games and the European games (Champions League and Europa League) impact on the share price. Finally, an interview is made to increase the reliability of the study.

    Results: The results shows a negative AAR for both wins, draws and losses. European games shows a bigger impact on the share price than other games. Expected wins and losses and unexpected wins results in negative AAR while unexpected lossesresults in positive AAR. The weekend games shows a negative AAR while every day matches shows positive AAR. The result lacks significance which makes it impossible to exclude that coincidence causes the results. 

    Conclusion: There is no relationship between the main sponsors’ changes in share price and the sponsored football clubs’ game results.

    Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka underhållningsprogram som sänds på svenska public service-kanaler för att se om de lever upp till public service idealet samt vilken kvalitet denna typ av program har. Undersökningen görs på två underhållningsprogram. Ett radioprogram, Helgen i P3, och ett tv program, Alla för en. Frågeställningarna ska svara på hur väl hela Sverige är representerat i dessa program, hur många aktuella händelser som tas upp i programmen, till vilken grad programmen uppnår satta kvalitetskrav och om det man kan senågon skillnad mellan underhållningsprogrammeni radio och tv.

    Studien bygger dels på en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av totalt 19 avsnitt från de två olika underhållningsprogrammen, 10 avsnitt av Alla för en och 9 program av Helgen i P3. För att komplettera resultatet från den kvantitativa undersökningen görs också en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av fyra avsnitt, två från vardera program. Resultatet diskuteras sedan utifrån McQuails och Syvertsens definitioner av public service samt ställs mot von Rimscha el als krav på public service-underhållning.

    De båda innehållsanalyserna visar att Alla fören representerar hela Sverige bättreän vad Helgen i P3görmen att Helgen i P3 är mycket bättre på att ta upp aktuella händelser. När det kom till kvaliteten av programmen var Alla för en bättre än Helgen i P3 på vissa kriterier, på andra kriterier var dettvärtom. Slog man ihop alla kriterier var programmen lika bra. Public service idealet uppehålls med dessa två program i tablån, men för attuppnåhela public service idealet behövs även andra program som bidrar med till exempel speciellt innehåll för minoriteter och spegla de delar av landet som är orepresenterade i dessa två program. En av de tydligaste punkterna som underhållningsprogram kan bli bättre på, när de har kultur som fokus, är att få in mer kultur som inte kommer från västvärlden.

    Den här uppsatsen behandlar begreppet mediedrev och dess olika innebörd. Att benämna en stor mediehändelse som ett mediedrev är sällan oproblematiskt och genom att göra det riskerar man att bagatellisera gediget journalistiskt arbete. Samtidigt är begreppet en markör för hur kommersialiseringen av medier påverkar journalistiken. Därför diskuteras och ifrågasätts ”mediedrev” i den här uppsatsen.

    Expressens publicering av SD-filmen 2012 har varit utgångspunkt för analysen och frågeställningen är följande: Utifrån Expressens publicering av SD-filmen: vad är grävande journalistik och vad är ett mediedrev? En del av studien är alltså även en jämförelse mellan mediedrev och gräv och båda dessa begrepp definieras och diskuteras.

    Metoden som har använts är process-spårning vilket har resulterat i en omfattande kronologi över nyhetshändelsen som sedan analyserats utifrån teorier och tidigare forskning om mediedrev och grävande journalistik. Analysen visar att begreppet mediedrev är väldigt komplext och ofta har en subjektiv betydelse samt att de forskningsteorier och definitioner som finns kring ämnet är flytande och svårapplicerbara.

    Abstract [en]

    The paper has two objectives: on the one hand, it intends to examine the rhetorical process that constituted the displacement of the contents of "integration" in Swedish politics between the years 1997-2015 - the years that the Swedish government had an integration ministerial post - and on the other hand, it will from this find out how this affected the perception of integration policy "us" and "them". The mainly empirical material is government explanations and yearbooks. To analyze empirical data, a post structural discourse approach by Laclau and Mouffe is used. The paper concludes that there has been a shift in the concept of "integration" from being a metaphor for diversity, “mångfald” to a metaphor for a white normativity, “vithetsnorm”. The Swedish "us" has thus gone from diversity to a more ideological "norm criticism".

    Abstract [en]

    Auditing has been a highly discussed topic throughout the years and different opinions on whether it is necessary or not to have an auditor for firms have been debated. In Sweden, it was mandatory to have an auditor until the year of 2010 when the law for small firms changed. Nowadays, small companies are defined by:

    • A maximum of 3 employees in average
    • A maximum of 1,5 million SEK in total assets
    • A maximum of 3 million SEK in revenue

    and they can freely choose whether or not to have an auditor.

    Since the abolition of mandatory audit duty for small companies caused a decrease in use of an auditor it is of interest to gain knowledge of what kind of characteristics that signifies the firm’s choice to continue to employ an auditor.

    The study was performed using a quantitative method where five characteristics were identified. These characteristics were the growth on net revenue, the growth on number of employees, the growth on total assets, qualified audit reports, and bank financing.

    The chosen characteristics were examined by reviewing annual reports for the years 2010-2012. 200 firms were chosen from our population, 100 without audit duty with an auditor, and 100 without audit duty without an auditor.

    After the data were collected a statistical analysis was performed by making an independent t-test. The results showed that the growth on number of employees, growth on total assets, and bank financing were characteristics that characterizes firms without audit duty with an auditor.  The firms without audit duty with an auditor had in general lower growth on number of employees and total assets compared to the firms without audit duty without an auditor.

    The characteristics identified in this study for the choice of having an auditor without audit duty after the law change in 2010 is therefore: growth on number of employees, growth on total assets, and bank financing.

    Background: E-commerce has with the rapid development of social media created conditions for E-tailers to become more consumer focused and social. The lack of possibility to physically examine products before purchasing has led to loss of revenue as a consequence of increased number of returns. Logistic management regarding returns must focus on optimizing the use of networks, a tool for this is social media. The usage of social media is extra important for clothing retailers because it creates further dimensions to the consumer experience and at the same time consumers use social media as an extended source to find information about companies. An optimal way of using social media is therefore an important success factor for clothing e-tailers.

    Purpose: The purpose with the study is to create knowledge regarding consumers desire about how e-tailers within the clothing industry should communicate their return policy by using social media.

    Methodology: The qualitative study is based on a deductive approach where the data has been collected through semi-structured interviews.

    Conclusion: The result of the study indicates that consumers wish that e-tailers within the clothing industry offers a function for chat on their social medias and their webpages for information and interaction regarding their return policy.

    Background: More and more people are working to get a more equal workplace. The numbers of female partners has increased from 13 percent to 16 percent at EY, which are the results of an active equality work that began five years ago. While at Deloitte the proportion of female partners has increased from 17 percent to 20 percent. The problem is not considered that there is an absence of competent women, it is said to be that recruitment to the higher positions often coincides with the time when many women have children. Others mean that the glass ceiling may be an explanation for the uneven distribution.

    Purpose: The purpose is to examine what factors affect women’s opportunity to become partners. Also see if these factors may explain why there are few female partners in the accounting and auditing industry.

    Method: The empirical study consists of interviews with ten respondents. The empirical data were then analyzed against the theoretical framework that consists of theories about the glass ceiling, parental leave and organizational factors.

    Analysis and conclusion: The factors that have been identified in this study is that parental leave has a negative impact and the support of the manager has a positive impact on the possibility to become a partner. However, the study also showed that the will of the female respondents to become partners is low. The respondents' experiences varied regarding the glass ceiling and because of that, a clear conclusion could not be drawn about the glass ceiling's existence.

    The emerging of new arrangements of financial auditing, accounting and efficiency measurements have had a dramatic impact on the vocabulary and the underlying principles of public sector organizations. This, in turn, has led nonprofit organizations into embracing more business-like and profit-driven approaches. The research field of Nonprofit Management emphasizes that the unique features of nonprofit organizations such as their financial and legal status, as well as the operational goals based on social values, contribute to the extremely complex nature of the conceptualization of organizational effectiveness. Which in turn gives rise to a problematic dilemma which entails that traditional measurement criteria based on financial measures are not able to account for nonprofit organizations' achievements, but in the nonprofit context becomes both ineffective and misleading. In particular, it is about the nonprofit sector's inability to duplicate the sharp and straightforward approach to measuring, manage, and account for nonprofit organizations´ performance. Dessa riktlinjer är avsedda för att minimera alla risker som finns och uppkommer med farmaceutisk tillverkning. Astra Zenecas tillverkningsenhet i Södertälje tillverkar mer än 30 olika läkemedel till fler än 100 marknader. Detta har lett till att denna tillverkningsenhet ständigt är uppvaktad av inspektioner från olika marknader och myndigheter, för att försäkra att all tillverkning av läkemedel genomdrivs utifrån GMPs regler och riktlinjer. I denna tillverkningsenhet har ett projekt påbörjats för att utforma och framta en organisationsförändring. Denna förändring handlar om att hitta ett effektiviserat sätt för att kunna hantera och bemöta dessa inspektioner, förändringen innebär skapandet av en ny virtuell enhet som går under benämning Inspektionsteam. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att analysera processarbetet vid utformningen och framtagningen av en organisationsförändring inom en specifik avdelning på Astra Zeneca. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ ansats där fyra personer som är involverade i projektet intervjuats. Studien är baserad på teorier för att djupare kunna studera studieobjektet.     Syftet med denna studie är att genom intervjuer få en inblick i hur ungdomars identitet skapas i relation till deras omgivning. Studien förhåller sig till ett etnologiskt fältarbete där intervjuer med ungdomar i verksamheten "Fittja Pulsen" har genomförts. Frågeställningarna är anpassade till samtliga informanter och berör frågor om sambandet mellan identitetsskapandet och deras omgivning. De teoretiska utgångspunkter som användes i denna studie är Erik H Eriksonoch Erving Goffmans teori om identitet, Elias Norbert och John Scottsons teori om etablerade och outsiders samt Telemans teori om språk. Genom användning av dessa teorier vid analysen av det empiriska datamaterialet visar vi att våra informanters omgivning spelar roll för deras identitetsskapande. Studiens resultat visar att ungdomarna upplever en stark koppling och lojalitet gentemot sitt bostadsområde och enligt dem är deras ort en bidragande faktor till deras identitetsskapande.

    Abstract [en]

    Hypertension is an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of mortality in the world. Although previous studies have focused on individual-level behavioral risk factors associated with hypertension, there has been little research on how interacting with others, that is social participation, affects hypertension. To address this research gap, this study examined the association between social participation and hypertension in Japan, a country with a high prevalence of hypertension possibly linked to rapid population aging. Data were used from 4582 participants aged more than 65 years who participated in the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Survey (JAGES) with blood pressure data collected during a health check-up. The frequency of participation in vertical organizations (characterized by hierarchical relationships) and horizontal organizations (characterized by non-hierarchical, egalitarian relationships) was measured by a questionnaire. In a Poisson regression analysis, participation in vertical organizations was not associated with hypertension, whereas participation in horizontal organizations at least once a month was inversely associated with hypertension (prevalence ratio: 0.941). This association remained significant after adjusting for social support variables, although further adjustment for health behaviors attenuated the association. As the frequency of going out and average time spent walking were both associated with hypertension, physical activity may be a possible pathway that connects social participation and hypertension. The results of this study suggest that expanding social participation programs, especially those involving horizontal organizations, may be one way to promote better health among older people in Japan.

    Abstract [en]

    Season of birth (SOB) has been investigated as one of the environmental factors that might epigenetically determine the physiology of individuals. This study investigated the role of SOB in the association between Quality of Life (QOL), a proxy of psychological stress status, and C-reactive protein (CRP) concentration (i.e., inflammatory status) among 1,085 adults (aged 20-57 years old) in Hainan Island, China. High sensitivity CRP concentration was measured in dried blood spot samples, while the abbreviated version of the World Health Organization's QOL questionnaire was used to gather information on six QOL domains. Analysis stratified by three historically distinct age groups revealed a significant association between CRP concentration, SOB, QOL and an interaction between SOB and QOL among the youngest and oldest groups. In the oldest group, those born in the dry season had a higher CRP concentration with worse QOL whereas in the youngest group, there was a higher CRP concentration with better QOL. Annual per capita rice production, a proxy of population nutritional status in the year of birth, was found to predict CRP concentration only among the second oldest group. These findings suggest that the early environment might affect the immune response to psychological stress in adulthood and that its effect may differ by the time period in which people were born.

    Idag är hälsoindustrin en blomstrande bransch, och överallt uppmanas människor att leva mer hälsosamt. Det ställs höga krav på konsumentens kunskaper i och med att valmöjligheter av både kost och träning har ökat, och dessutom har människans identifiering gått från samhällssociala klasser till konsumtionsmönster. Många forskare varnar för att den hälsotrend som pågår just nu är på väg att gå överstyr eftersom hälsa har blivit en samhällsnorm och är svår att urskilja från dagens skönhetsideal. Mot bakgrund av detta är syftet med denna studie att analysera vilka sociokulturella aspekter som hälsokonsumtion har i kvinnors livsstil. Urvalet i denna studie har begränsats till kvinnor eftersom tidigare forskning har visat att kvinnor tar generellt bättre hand om sin hälsa och att det kroppsliga idealet har en större slagkraft hos dem. För att komma fram till en djupare diskussion om kvinnors livsberättelse har studien använt individuella intervjuer som metod. Studien fokuserade på undersökning av kvinnor som tränar regelbundet eller äter hälsosamt. För att öka tillförlitligheten i studien har även observationsmetoden använts. I denna studie kan det konstateras att det kroppsliga idealet är den primära faktorn till att kvinnor lägger upp ett kost- och träningsschema. Med tiden spelar det kroppsliga idealet en allt mindre roll allteftersom kvinnor ser andra mervärden i sin hälsolivsstil, däribland kan hälsolivsstilen skapa en gemenskap mellan hälsomedvetna människor, och träning kan tolkas som en övergångsritual i deras vardag. Vidare kan generationsskillnader uttryckas i kvinnors val av kost eftersom de debatterade dieterna är mer acceptabla bland de yngre, medan de äldre föredrar en allsidig kost. Hälsolivsstilen har också medfört att kvinnor har blivit mer självsäkra, dels på grund av deras upplevelse av den kroppsliga förändringen men även på grund av den ökade kunskapen som de besitter. Det uppmärksammades även att kvinnor gärna vill framställas som starka hälsosamma individer och goda mödrar genom att ta sitt ansvar i livet och ge de bästa förutsättningarna till sina barn. En hälsosam livsstil kan således förknippas både med gott mödraskap, och att vara en god hustru eftersom kvinnor ansvarar än idag för hushållskonsumtion.

    During the last years, the pharmacy market undergone major changes. Re-regulation that has been done in 2009 meant that monopoly was unlocked for competition. In a market where firms offer equivalent products, increases the importance of delivery service as competitive tool to differentiate themselves among the crowd. This also applies to pharmacy market where the supplies of goods in large way consist of equivalent products regardless of the company.

    This case study observes the importance of delivery service in terms of competitive tool on pharmacy market by focusing on a company’s improvement in delivery service. This study is based on an abductive research method. The data is collected by qualitative method in form of semi structured interviews and quantitative method in form of survey research.

    In order to investigate and analyze relevant subject, the study applies following theories: Porter five forces, logistics as a competitive tool, delivery service and its elements, improvement cycle and logistical goal mix.

    The conclusion of this study is that delivery service has a significant importance for the company to differentiate itself from its competitors and create competitive advantages. Between the various elements if the delivery service, the lead time is considered to be the most essential one, which is followed by delivery reliability, level of service and supply reliability. The result from the quantitative survey shows that customers have high expectations for a smooth delivery service which harmonizes with Apoteket AB's strategy to improve the delivery service.

    Hitting a BRIC Wall: MIST countries becoming the new BRICs?2012Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to examine a completely new phenomenon called the MIST, by two portfolios: the Goldman Sachs Next 11 equity fund, and the Goldman Sachs BRIC fund, in order to establish whether or not the MIST countries are a better investment decision in terms of risk, return and growth. Furthermore, the study examines in which form these emerging markets lies in terms of market efficiency, and if the random walk theory is present. The opportunities and challenges for Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey are also brought upon to determine whether these countries have the potential to exhibit the same success as the BRIC countries did for a decade.

    Since the growth of the BRIC countries are slowing down, Jim O’Neill, the same founder of the term BRIC, coined the nations MIST. The BRIC countries are facing several difficulties and have led investors to draw out from these countries stocks. Investors that were pouring in money to the BRIC countries during the period 2001-2009, have from 2011, withdrawn 15 billion dollars from the BRIC stocks. Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey. Derived from the next eleven countries, these countries have a major effect on the global economy due to their economical and political circumstances. For many investors, the MIST countries that are growing faster than the BRIC are regarded to be the new biggest emerging markets. Investing in BRIC funds are stated to be a disaster today, while on the other hand, the MIST countries are growing and outpacing the BRIC fund.

    The methodology used was to compare two different portfolios, Goldman Sachs N-11 equity fund in the period 2011-2013 against the Goldman Sachs BRIC fund in two different periods, 2011-2013 and 2006-2008 with S&P 500 as the market index. In addition, a hypothesis test was carried out for this period to observe whether or not to reject the null hypothesis.

    The results of this study shows that the null hypothesis was rejected and that the N-11 equity fund is a better investment decision, in terms of risk, return and growth today. These emerging markets are under the weak form market efficiency and the random walk theory is present in the N-11 equity fund. This makes the authors’ results more of a speculation than a definite conclusion about the future, as one cannot "beat the market".

    Syfte: Syftet med denna undersökning är att göra en komparativ studie mellan Sverige-och global aktiefonder för att vidare analysera vilka aktiefonder som ger högst avkastning.

    Metod: Uppsatsen bygger på en statistisk analys vilket sekundärdata ligger till grund för våra beräkningar. Genom tillämpning av kvantifierbar hård data där bland annat historiska aktiekurser ingår, så har en kvantitativ studie använts. Befintliga teorier och modeller har tillämpats.

    Slutsats: Studien visar i stort sett att högre risk ger en högre avkastning. Under period 1 presterade Latin Amerika fonderna bäst varefter Sverige fonder presterade bättre under period 2. Dessa marknader kan vara väldigt oberoende av varandra och tenderar därmed inte att följa varandras kursutveckingen. Slutsatsen är då att en investering i olika geografiska placeringar diversifierar risken mer. Exempelvis en investering i en svensk fond och en latin amerika fond.

    This study aims to examine if certain motives have a significant influence on unlisted insurance company, whom is not required by law to apply IFRS, to use IFRS. Futhermore this study aims to anayize how the implementation of IFRS 4 been in unlisted insurance companys.

    To reach our stated objective, this studie we adopt a positivist  approach where  our emperic data consist primarly of our findings from analyzing insurance companys financial reports to create a picture over the implementation and use of IFRS 4.

    Our findings indicate that the majority of unlisted swedish insurance companys have chosen to apply IFRS and thereby IFRS 4.  This volountary choice to use IFRS may be determined by the companys structure and international activity. Furthermore our findings indicate that the implementation of IFRS 4 have been varied inbetween the companys as a direct result of implemenation occuring gradually and flexibly.

    Syftet med denna studie är att analysera spoken word texter för att undersöka vardagsproblem i dagens svenska förorter och vetenskapliggöra de sociala kontexterna till de olika vardagsverkligheterna som beskrivs i texterna. Vidare syfte är även att se vilken betydelse poesi och spoken word kan ha för människor i utsatta områden, samt på vilket sätt kan spoken word öka dessa människors känslor av delaktighet och erkännande. För att uppnå syfte har det genomförts narrativ metod för tolkandet av sju spoken word texter. Vid tolkning av texterna har det använts en intersektionell analys. Även en intervju har genomförts för att få djupare förståelse för studiens bakgrund. Analysen av empirin kommer att ha sin teoretiska utgångspunkt i begreppet vardagsverklighet och de olika strukturerna som formar ramarna till de olika vardagsverkligheterna. Mikropolitiska aktiviteter kommer även att analyseras som ett sätt att göra motstånd i det vardagliga livet, och för att förstå motstånd i relation till makt så har denna studie utgått ifrån Foucaults maktperspektiv. Resultatet visar att poeternas vardagsverkligheter präglas av postkoloniala samhällsstrukturer och att de jämnt bemöter fördomar från det övriga samhället. Intersektionell analys på maktstrukturer blir användbar då det visar sig att tjejerna inte känner sig hörda och sedda i förort som för killar symboliserar trygghet. Spoken word ökar inte bara självreflektion och känslan av empowerment men kan även bli ett sätt att göra motstånd mot dessa strukturer och visa en motbild till den bilden av förorter som resten av samhället har.

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the experience of the support given to the family home through a consultant supported activities. The questions for the study was how the foster parents and staff feel the support. Three family advisers and two foster parents were interviewed. With a qualitative method and a phenomenological focus could be the experience of consultant support are studied. To get an understanding of the interviews, two different analytical perspectives in the form of systems theory and the development of ecology. The results showed, as in previous research that the key elements in supporting the accessibility, information, relationships, training, tutorial and meet with other foster homes. The results showed that both the foster parents in the study were satisfied with consultant support overall. The study showed, however, that the business could offer new foster training before an initial investment made which foster parents mattered significantly. Operations were also less able to offer a good continuous education in the form of lectures. The study's results together with previous research also showed that the perception of a lack of available network of foster parents.

Detta gemensamma internationella regelverk skulle harmonisera internationell redovisning och bidra till ökad transparens. Ett av normsättarnas mer omfattande och komplexa samarbeten berör harmoniseringsprojektet för leasing som initierades 2006 och avbröts 2013. Syftet med denna studie var att analysera några av de krafter som formade detta harmoniseringsprojekt och öka förståelsen för varför det avbröts.

    Customers today use travel agencies that exist on the internet more frequently. However, what makes the customer trust a specific website? The purpose of this study is to examine if a customers’ trust towards a travel agency is affected by the agency’s website and the role trust plays in customers’ decision-making process. To examine this purpose a web survey and interviews were carried out. The web survey totals 110 responses and 15 people were selected through snowball sampling for the interviews. Results demonstrate that customers are affected by the design of the website in a way that it decides whether or not the customer will invest time and use the website. Furthermore, after getting past the first stage customers then decide whether or not a website is trustworthy depending on a set of factors including but not limited to security, information and navigation. The customers’ decision-making process is affected by trust in a later stage when the customer evaluates the possible alternatives. However when it comes to choosing a website, a customer might choose to buy a product from a website he/she has previously used due to already having built a trust towards the website and therefore refrains from using an unknown website. In that sense, trust is present from previous experiences and affects the customer in an earlier stage of the decision-making process.
