    Abstract [en]

    The football audience and the supporters have a vast role and an important function for many football clubs since they take on a role as a customer when they pay for the experience of watching a football game. They also participate to the atmosphere in the arena, which constitute the whole arrangement. This is the reason for the clubs to thoroughly work for good relations with the audience, which may not be a homogenous group.

    The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the relations between football clubs and their supporters and also study the importance of the audience as a product. The empirical method has been analyzed through the Stakeholder Theory, Sports Value Framework and a model for Value Capture in the context of team sports. The results of the study indicate that the heterogeneity among the supporters cause a differentiated classification depending on which purpose the classification is made. The study also demonstrates that the supporters contribute with a great dedication that is beneficial to the club. They are involved in campaigns, contribute to the atmosphere and make it more attractive for sponsors and partners to be associated with the club.

    Undersökningens syfte är att bidra till en ökad förståelse för om spekulanter använder sig av bostadsrättsföreningars årsredovisning och i vilken utsträckning de förstår den.

    Vi har i vår undersökning framför allt använt oss av en kvantitativ metod i form av en enkätundersökning, men även intervjuer är genomförd som en del av undersökningen.  

    De flesta spekulanterna som deltagit i enkätundersökningen har svarat att de inte förstår årsredovisningen. Trots detta använder sig många av den på ett eller annat sätt och de flesta förstår hur viktig årsredovisningen är. Spekulanter använder sig av årsredovisningen när de är intresserade av en bostadsrätt och vänder sig ofta till mäklaren med frågor.

    Abstract [en]

    Along with digitalization more and more organizations move beyond traditional work to a more flexible and virtual environment, for example by working in virtual teams. The aim of this study therefore led to the desire to establish a deeper understanding of how leaders respectively employees perceive the leadership in virtual teams regarding feedback, inclusion and delegation of responsibility. To analyze how the leadership could be perceived within virtual teams, the used theories were; E-leadership, transformational, transactional leadership and LMX-theory. Attention to the aspects trust and culture were also analyzed because of its importance in virtual teams. The methodology used for this study was qualitative and ten semi-structured interviews were held. The study found that feedback was perceived as more important in virtual teams and a tool to build relationships, that virtual leaders should encourage other team members to include each other and delegation as a corporate responsibility. Meanwhile, feedback was connected to trust, that employees are responsible for inclusion as well as leaders. Delegation for virtual leaders was best communicated through clear visions, goals and a corporate responsibility.

    Abstract [en]

    This study aims to investigate the implementation of the new accounting standards, K3, as standard accounting rules, both internationally and nationally. The K-project began in year 2004, when the BFN decided to change focus of their accounting principles. BFN decided to produce a single, comprehensive framework of rules covering the different categories of companies, K1 - K4 that should replace previously standards. The idea of the K-project is that all rules and regulations applicable for a company, in the preparation of its annual financial reports, shall be collected into the same guidance framework.

    We have chosen to collect data by interviews with and studies of the referral organizations responses on BFNs "Upprättande av årsredovisning (K3) - Utkast". Generally accepted accounting principles and true and fair view, are two of the main terms in Swedish accounting. This study illustrates how the K3-standards are related to those two terms from three different perspectives; the preparers-, the industry- and the stakeholder perspective.

    Problem: Is the free cash flow a value relevant accounting measure in relation to the Swedish stock market?

    Objective: The aim is that by using an investment strategy to examine whether the free cash flow is an accounting measure that could be perceived as value relevant in relation to the Swedish stock market.

    Method: The paper is based on a quantitative survey of empirical evidence that has been collected from companies listed on the Large and Mid-Cap lists of the Swedish stock market.

    Theoretical Frame of reference: value relevance, cash flow, portfolio theory, drive theory

    Results: It was concluded that the study results conform to the Finnish survey results. The portfolio shows higher returns than the OMX index.

    Abstract [en]

    The drinking culture within the college life has been a recognized problem for long. Despite this, students still witness a continuing of the perceived peer pressure to consume alcohol. Since the college years are an important part of the life that youths look forward to at an early age it is often difficult to go against the norm they find at each university.

    This research aims to examine the effect that the social student culture has on the alcoholic consumption of young students. Young students find themselves in a precarious situation on the issue of alcohol use when they start their studies at a university-level. Earlier research indicates that young adults are in a danger zone regarding the use of alcoholic-beverages and this also applies to students. Thus putting young students in a particularly risky zone in this issue.

    Based on the research we have studied and the theoretical framework that we felt were most suitable for our research we will try to gain a deeper understanding of the choices that the students are making and the reasoning behind these decisions. We used a qualitative method to approach our issues and semi- structured interviews in the interviews that we did with four students from two different universities.

    Our results and thus the conclusion of the thesis is that the decisions that students make to a large extent is influenced by the social student culture and the view on alcohol that the students perceive that the universities are sending out. The lack of a stance by the university against alcohol legitimizes the current drinking culture that is prevailing in the college life and amplifies the image of the alcohol-centric student culture.

    Abstract [en]

    This Master Thesis investigates how the Swedish Newspapers Expressen and DN are using sources and expertise in their portrayal of honour related violence. Which sources are they using, and in which way are these sources being used? 40 articles written between January 1 2017 – March 31 2018 have been chosen for a qualitative analysis step one. In the second step 10 articles have been chosen for a deeper analysis. In the third step three journalists have been interviewed about the articles they have been written in the subject honour-related violence. The method frame analysis have been used. The results of the qualitative analysis shows for example that it is many of the articles that have a strong dramaturgy, and that the use of emotive words are different in various type of articles. The study also shows that the use of sources and expertise are different in DN than in Expressen, and that the use of sources and expertis are remarkable different from other kinds of articles in journalism.

    Abstract [en]

    The study aims to survey how social workers reflect on involuntary treatment of pregnant addicts. The study also surveys the application of legislation that regulates involuntary treatment in relation to pregnant addicts and social secretaries' approach to ethical aspects when making decisions on compulsory care of pregnant addicts. The study is qualitative and is implemented with the help of interviews with social workers and also with the help of official documents from various authorities. Theories of empowerment and advocacy by Ole Petter Askheim (2007) and Malcolm Payne (2008), social worker's discretion by Karin Svensson et al (2008) and ethical codes related to social work by Erik Blennberger’s (2006) are used. The theories and issues connected to social work practice explain the grounds social secretaries stand on when taking care of such issues as compulsory care of pregnant addicts. The results of the study show that social workers relate to the Swedish legislation. Social workers do not regard pregnancy of addict as the crucial factor when deciding upon compulsory treatment.

    Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine and analyse how companies implement CRM in order to identify the underlying factors that companies fail a CRM implementation.

    Theories: CRM process, Implementation Strategies, Implementation Model

    Method: A qualitative study consisting of four semi-structured interviews with different companies.

    Data: Consists of four interviews with CRM managers from each company

    Conclusion: If the company understands and takes into account all stages of CRM implementation, and generally believe that all phases are equally important when all the parts come together, this leads to a successful CRM implementation. The underlying factors for a failed CRM implementation is basically that firms believe that a phase is more important than another phase, leading to the company down prioritize other phases that are essential when implementing CRM.

    The past 15 years have seen a fresh approach to management training. One of the areas that has generated the most interest around Europe is how to improve project creation and co-creation, based, among other things, on 4H innovation models (quadruple helix comprising academia, government, industry and civil society) has become firmly established as one of the most important tools. Below is a description of three current cases that illustrate how different 4H actors are tackling the challenge of providing management training for co-creation in context.

    Over the last decades the airline industry has changed to a more competitive market as an effect of the deregulation in the European Union and United States. To keep and attract new customers partnerships between airlines have become a common scenario. Alliances have emerged and grown and created deeper incitement for a cooperative behavior between airlines. Codeshare agreement, which originated as a way to get more exposure, has now established as a strategic approach to gain larger market shares. Codeshare is a bilateral agreement between airlines that makes it possible for a passenger to travel on two different airlines on the same booking code.

    This study aims to investigate whether cooperative behavior like codeshare would eliminate or reduce competition on nonstop flights within Europe. Both economic theories and prior work is covered which gives an insight of the complexity behind antitrust behavior. Data was collected and regression analysis was made to detect certain patterns that could explain if codeshare agreements could lead to higher fares on nonstop traffic on intra-Europe flights. The empirical result showed that certain agreements, like parallel- and unilateral codeshare, are resulting in higher fares on nonstop flights. This could be explained by underlying factors that prevent competition, like airport congestion and the fact that being a member of an alliance in some cases will prevent new airlines to enter a specific market. This is also analyzed in the regression models.

    The result was in line with expectations. Much of the problem is the lack of competition, which in turn could be explained by limited takeoff- and landing permissions at the congested airports of Europe, along with other entry barriers like cost advantages for the incumbent. Codeshare agreements are likely to reinforce entry barriers that exist today in the airline industry in Europe.

    Nowcasting US GDP with Baltic Dry Index: A study investigating the use of the MIDAS Model2016Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis

    One of the conclusions made in the aftermath of the last financial crisis was that forecasting was failing in the context of predicting the current economic activity, which meant there were few efficient instruments to monitor the economy and thereby no early stage intervention which could have mitigated the severity of the crises. 

    Due to these facts presented nowcasting, forecasting in short horizon, and the use of models that could combine different data frequencies like the Mixed Data Sampling (MIDAS) model gained a lot of attention.

    This study investigates if the MIDAS model improves nowcasting and if the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) is a good indicator for the US GDP.

    Before making any conclusions from the result, the characteristic of the BDI is covered and explained as to why it could reflect general growth.

    The intention of using BDI as an indicator for US GDP was to find an indicator that may explain economic activity in a more accurate way due to the characteristics of the BDI.

    The result was in line with previous empirical work and proved that the MIDAS model is superior in nowcasting in comparison to the least square model with flat aggregation defined as a benchmark model.

    The rejection of the cointegration test for BDI may question the use of it as an indicator for US GDP at present time, this due to the extreme circumstances that currently affect the bulk dry market.

    Den fria scenkonsten är den scenkonst som produceras utanför institutionerna. De föddes under 70-talets kulturreform och har sedan dess blivit en stabil del av kulturutbudet och producerar idag runt 20 % av all teater i Sverige (Svenson, 2008, s. 56). Men även om den fria scenkonstens roll är stabil och självklar så är de ekonomiska villkoren hårda och det kulturpolitiska landskapet svårt att manövrera. För trots att de fria grupperna producerar 20 % av all teater så får de bara 6 % av anslagen (ibid.), det betyder att de i snitt gör produktioner för ¼ av kostnaden på institutionerna. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka ekonomiska strategier som växt fram inom fältet samt hur det ekonomiska läget påverkar dels välmående och psykisk hälsa och dels fältets självbild. För att ta reda på detta har producenter från sju av Stockholms fria teatergrupper intervjuats.

    Resultaten visar att de ekonomiska strategierna ofta är omfattande och komplexa, speciellt hos de mer seniora producenterna. Det pratas om ett skifte, från fri teater med allt fokus på konstnärliga värden till en mer professionell teater i en konkurrensutsatt omvärld. Producenterna vill ta teatern från vad de uppfattat som en navelskådande syn på den egna verksamheten och verklighetsfrånvänd inställning till bidrag till ett mer självkritiskt och realistiskt förhållningsätt. Gällande välmående och psykisk hälsa är den oroväckande, sex av sju producenter vittnar om psykisk ohälsa nu eller tidigare, och flera av dem uppger allvarliga psykiska problem som ett resultat av deras arbetssituation, och främst är det den dåliga ekonomin som uppges som orsak till ohälsa och stress, men det finns även problem med producentens arbetsroll som innebär mycket ansvar men ofta otydliga mandat.

    Det finns en ambition hos de fria grupperna att bedriva sin verksamhet professionellt och arbetsmiljövänligt, med trygga anställningar och långsiktig planering men detta omöjliggörs inom den rådande kulturpolitiken som ger bidrag ett år i taget och som konsekvent ger lägre bidrag än det söka beloppet, vilket tvingar producenterna att sänka lönerna och förkorta anställningsperioderna.

    Vi har i arbetet med denna uppsats undersökt hur de könsstrukturer som finns inom den svenska journalistkåren återspeglas på Södertörns högskolas alumner och om man via dem kan skönja en feminisering av den svenska journalistkåren. Med hjälp av en enkät har vi utfört telefonintervjuer med 136 tidigare journaliststudenter som 2008 samt 2011 var registrerade på utbildningens sista termin. Denna studie är en del av ett större projekt på journalistikavdelningen på Södertörns högskola under ledning av professor Gunnar Nygren. Därmed har undersökningen genomförts i snarlikt utförande vid två tidigare tillfällen. Resultatet av dessa undersökningar har vi kunnat använda i denna uppsats.

    Vi har, med fokus på differenser mellan de olika könen, undersökt aspekter såsom hur stor andel av männen respektive kvinnorna som idag arbetar journalistiskt, vilken anställningsform de har, samt hur lönesättningen ser ut. Vi har även frågat om alumnerna själva anser sig dra någon fördel eller nackdel av sitt kön och vad de tror om sin framtid på den journalistiska arbetsmarknaden.

    Vi har i denna undersökning kunnat konstatera olika faktum. Den svenska journalistkåren tycks idag , sett till antal yrkesverksamma kvinnor och män, vara jämställd. Bland de nyexaminerade alumnerna från Södertörns högskola är det dock kvinnorna som får flest jobb, mer heltidstjänster och arbetsuppgifter med större ansvar. De är också mer positiva till sin framtid. Trots detta tycks det finnas vissa könsstrukturer kvar inom yrket, inte minst vad gäller vilken sorts journalistik kvinnorna respektive männen producerar. Exempelvis är sportjournalistik fortfarande dominerad av män. Genom alumnerna går det dock att tala om en feminisering vad gäller kvinnornas position på arbetsmarknaden. Men vad gäller vilken sorts journalistik de bedriver verkar det vara en bit kvar innan total jämställdhet inom kåren är ett faktum.

    Denna rapport är en utvärdering av projektet Jämlik, jämställd och interkulturell medborgarservice inom Medborgarkontoren i Botkyrka kommun. Projektets mål är att säkerställa att alla medborgarkontoren ger en jämlik medborgarservice. Projektet ska bidra med att ”medvetandegöra medarbetarna” kringjämställdhets- och interkulturella perspektiv. Samhällsvägledarna som arbetar på medborgarkontoren ger kommuninvånarna vägledning och service inom alla kommunens områden. Kommuninvånarna kan även få hjälp till kontakt med berörda myndigheter.

    Botkyrka kommun har fem medborgarkontor som är lokaliserade i Alby, Hallunda, Fittja, Tumba och Tullinge. Medborgarkontorens projekt om Jämställd och interkulturell medborgarservice vänder sig till alla samhällsvägledare som arbetar på Botkyrka medborgarkontor. Syftet med denna utvärdering är att granska och bedöma om samhällsvägledarna anser att de har fått den kunskap de behöver för att uppnå projektets mål.

    Utvärderingen grundar sig i följande frågor:

    • Anser samhällsvägledarna att de har tillräcklig med kunskap för att nå projektets mål?
    • Tycker samhällsvägledarna att genomförda insatser inom projektet har bidragit tillutveckling av jämställdhets- och interkulturellt perspektiv?
    • Hur bedömer samhällsvägledarna projektets mål?

    Utvärderingen bygger på en kvalitativ metod då syftet är att försöka förstå människors sätt att resonera. Tillvägagångssättet för insamling av material har bestått utav dokumentstudier och intervjuer med sex samhällsvägledare.

    Denna utvärdering visar att samhällsvägledarna anser sig ha fått till viss del den kunskap debehöver för att uppnå det jämställda och interkulturella perspektivet men det som har saknats enligt intervjuerna för att uppnå det jämställda och interkulturella perspektivet är en medvetenhet om ens egna fördomar och föreställningar. Denna medvetenhet kan enligt samhällsvägledarna uppnås genom gemensamma diskussioner och bearbetning av problemlösningar. Samhällsvägledarna upplever också att de behöver kunskap om praktiska situationer, till exempel hur man ska hantera kunder som befinner sig i en svår situation.

    In Sweden today, the consumers have the opportunity to use the different sales channels; physical store, online store and brick and click, a combination of both. For the past decade, the use of ecommerce has spread tremendously and the fashion industry is one of the top three industries in this category. This, together with the growth of technology, have created new opportunities for consumers during their online shopping. The purpose of this study is to examine the differences between consumers who use physical store, online store or both. This study aims to look into consumers' shopping habits within these sales channels and factors that are affecting them. This study uses a quantitative method with 150 respondents participating in a survey of 16 questions. The respondents consist of women in Stockholm in the age group 15-35. The survey is based on theories of sales channels and consumer buying process.

    The results show that respondents shop more frequently in a physical store than an electronic store. The three most important factors, for respondents that are using both channels, are the price, the fit and the quality. The latter two factors are perceived to be more easily evaluated and detailed in a physical store with physical contact. The traditional retailers, who only shop in a physical store, value service and experience the highest. This is one of the main reasons that they do not shop online because the service and experience are different in each sales channels. However, the price, the fit and the quality share the second place. Also, the brand and the width of the supply are of significance since the availability is greater in e-commerce. These two factors, can along with the price, be prime reasons for onlineshopping. Respondents who never shop online consider safety and shipping/delivery process the main reason for it. This study has therefore come to the conclusion that the ideal marketing strategy for consumers is the brick and click strategy. These two combined channels can compensate for each other's shortcomings and thereby enhance the consumer satisfaction. With a combined sales channel, consumers have also the possibility to use both channels in the buying process and adapt their approaches in the different stages according to their needs, which may differ depending on different circumstances.

    Abstract [en]

    This is a study of five young women’ experiences of honor-related violence. The purpose of this study is: What experiences does the women show of an honor-related violent relationship? A qualitative method was applied and interviews were done with a total of five young women. To get a better understanding of the subject I have defined the four central concepts that this study is based on: honor, culture, ethnicity and gender. These subjects together describe honor and what it means to live under those circumstances. It also gives an idea of how it can be and reasons why honor-related violence occur.

    The five women of the study are slightly described to give an idea of how they are and what experiences they have in the matter. From the collected data I could analyze the results and code four themes: fear, guilt and shame of a controlled life, low self-esteem and also strategies for how to survive in an honor-related relationship.

    The result showed two types of groups where a victim can suffer from honor-related violence. The first group is of the children that are brought up with a relative, usually the father in the family, that is the perpetrator. The second group is the woman who gets in to a relationship with a man that uses honor as a reason to be violent. In conclusion I found that the perpetrator sees the victim as something he owns and control them as if they where his. This honorcode is based on what the surrounding defines as right and wrong towards the honorculture. The violence and the measure of it is based on what the culture defines as right and wrong.

    People obtain a university degree in order to improve their future prospects, in particular regarding employment opportunities. A degree in finance does not only fulfill a need in society at large but also for the individuals and their personal finances.

    We focused on students and alumni at and from Södertörns högskola in order to investigate whether the Bachelor of finance degree influenced the respondents’ financial decisions and behaviour regarding savings and investment.

    We investigated whether savings and investment increased as a function of increased knowledge of financial instruments and markets and an understanding of the risk associated with these. The thesis focused mainly on quantitative methods with qualitative elements to elicit a deeper understanding of the respondents’ replies. Data collection was completed through surveys and interviews.

    The results showed indications of higher level of investments in stocks, bonds and high risk markets as well as statistically significant increases in the propensity to borrow money for investment. No statistically significant difference was detected in the level of pension savings.

    Esports have grown rapidly over the last couple of years and have now become a global phenomenon. At the same time forecasts show that the market for esports will continue to grow, which in turn has made it attractive for brands to sponsor teams, events and organizations. Despite all of this there are concerns from several reports which suggest that there are still sponsors who are hesitant to invest in esports because there is an underlying uncertainty regarding how effective it really is.

    The purpose of the study is to examine how effective sponsorship within esports is. The study has intended to examine this from a consumer perspective for the purpose of providing more tools for companies to help them make conscious choices when sponsoring esports. Based on the purpose of the study, the main issue was established.

    •  Are sponsorships within esports an effective marketing strategy when sponsors want to increase their brand equity?

    The method was based on a quantitative research design where the empirical data consists of four different surveys, two benchmark measurements and two measurements after the event. A total of 442 respondents participated in the study, 192 of them were Swedish and 250 of them were international. The respondents were limited to only include esports consumers who were either going to watch and/or watched Dreamhack Open Winter 2018, an event within esports that is held every year in Jönköping, Sweden.

    Based on the results, the study developed a set of empirical findings which were then connected to the issue that had been established. The measures after the event showed that the brand equity of all of the sponsors had increased. This indicates that esports can be an effective marketing strategy for brands that want to increase their brand equity through sponsorships. However, the results showed that brands of different sizes sponsor for different purposes. Further, the study found that purchase intentions only increased for the brands that had a high degree of perceived quality and loyalty, therefore it was concluded that there is a connection between them. In conclusion the study showed that there was a difference between Swedish and international esports consumers in their perception of sponsors. This could depend on the fact that Swedish respondents hold stronger and more favorable associations towards Swedish organizers such as Dreamhack.

    The study aims to investigate how equity- and debt based crowdfunding in relation to the study’s primary theory of elaboration likelihood model (ELM) and its variables effect on potential investors’ investment decision. Information asymmetry and behavioral finance has also been included in the study as two complementary theories. To investigate this, the study has been delimited to potential investors who are geographically resident in Stockholm County. The survey has been conducted using semi-structured interviews, where a total of eleven potential investors have been interviewed based on a chain sampling. The potential investors have been presented four scenarios that contain variables linked to the theory of ELM. The study's findings show that potential investors assess and choose investment projects based on the central path of ELM theory, characterized by the quality of the project and opposite to the peripheral road that instead illuminates the electronic word of mouth (WoM).

    For decades the question regarding foreign aid’s effectiveness has been disputed. The ongoing debate concerning whether foreign aid yields or prevents economic growth has been discussed by different scholars, though with dissimilar outcomes. Foreign aid is often criticized for creating destruction rather than stimulating developing countries economic growth, though the fundamentals for aid is to create opportunities for developing countries to evolve and gain better socio-economic structures. Different forms of aid are supposed to create different outcomes, i.e. short- and medium-term aid ought to stimulate the country while long-term aid such as infrastructure and education should create growth for the recipient country. The problem of aid is mostly corruption, corrupted regimes hinders the natural development for aid that is to say it hampers the positive outcome aid can produce. So, does foreign aid have a positive impact on recipient countries growth? The aim of this study is to acknowledge the importance of foreign aid. In order to analyse whether foreign aid results in economic growth for developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, a crosssection regression analysis has been conducted. To sum up the results of this study foreign aid doesn’t have a significant effect on economic growth in the region Sub-Saharan Africa although other variables such as education and foreign direct investment has a significant effect on growth.

    Abstract [en]

    A new hypothesis, The Adaptive Markets Hypothesis (AMH), is applied to the Swedish stockmarket context by testing the variability of the risk-return trade-off over different investment horizons and market environments. Yearly returns and volatility are measured on OMXS30 index between1986 and 2017 over a variety of different investment horizons. Through the sample observations, a number of distinct market environments become apparent. A regression analysis is then used to test the statistical significance of the risk-return relationship. The results show a weak – and varying – statistical relationship between risk and return, implying that risk is not a reliable explanatory variable for average returns. The length of the investment horizon and the market environment the investment is being made in are shown to be influential factors on changes to the risk-return relationship. These findings from the OMXS30 index support the AMH, showing that the risk-return relationship is dynamic and subject to changes over different investment horizons and in different market environments.

    Abstract [en]

    The question of the democratic deficit have been a much discussed topic in the field of European studies throughout the years. The lack of accountability in the decision-making together with lack of trust and interest from the public have created a situation where the unions democratic legitimacy has been questioned. The goal of this essay is to analyze what measures the EU have taken to restore the union’s legitimacy and in which direction it’s heading structure-wise through the recent ratification of the Lisbon Treaty and to examine if the public will be allowed to participate in the legislative process somehow. For this purpose I have used a qualitative text analysis of the democratic parts of the Lisbon Treaty to find out what reforms or changes that matter for the democratic process. Together with this I have also used Dimitris N. Chrysschoou’s four models for a democratic Europe to see in which direction the EU is going in terms of the nature of the union’s structure in order to determine the prospects of a legitimate governance. My conclusion is that although the member states after the Lisbon Treaty still enjoy much independence the EU is moving towards a more federalized governance and that the institutional reforms give good conditions for an accountable decision-making, while it’s doubtful to imagine that the reforms to increase the public’s participation will have any notable effects.

    Bakgrund: Filmklimatet har gjort det svårt för producenter att nå lönsamhet och fånga en stor biopublik. Under 2014 var det 78 % av svensk film som gick med förlust. Filmbranschen har genomgått stora förändringar till följd av digitaliseringen, där den nya tekniken har resulterat i en stor flexibilitet som har medfört att biograferna snabbare kan svara på biopublikens efterfrågan. Filmer kan numera snabbt plockas bort från biorepertoaren. Det har resulterat i att gapet mellan filmer som går bra och filmer som går dåligt har ökat. Aktörer talar om en bransch som präglas av turbulens, osäkerhet och risktagande, där den primära inkomstkällan för producenter är intäkter som genereras från bio. Producenters strategiska val blir allt viktigare för en films överlevnad. 

    Syfte: Studiens syfte är att undersöka vilka strategiska val en producent kan använda sig av för att en film ska erhålla höga intäkter och nå lönsamhet.

    Metod: Studien använder sig av en kvantitativ metod som utgår från en deduktiv ansats där 111 filmer har studerats genom regressionsanalyser. 

    Resultat: Studien har identifierat att budget och huvudrollsinnehavare påverkar en films intäkter. Det går det inte att urskilja vilka strategier som leder till att en film blir lönsamhet.

    Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om belöningssystem styr anställda i en önskvärd riktning med utgångspunkt i företags mål. Detta fungerar som uppsatsens utvärderingsgrund och kastar ljus över följande två forskningsfrågor: (1) vilka belöningsformer använder företag för att motivera sina medarbetare? (2) vilka belöningsformer upplever sig medarbetare motiverade av i praktiken?

    Metod: Vi valde att använda en metodbas med såväl kvalitativa som kvantitativa inslag. Underlag för datainsamling var intervjuer, enkäter och dokumentgranskning.

    Konklusion: Två undersökningsobjekt – CellaVision AB och Duni AB – tillämpade belöningssystem som delvis harmoniserade med vad anställda upplevde sig belönade och motiverade av. Sålunda överensstämmer belöningssystemen delvis med hur medarbetare upplever dem – och bidrar därmed till en effektivare styrning av medarbetare. Ett undersökningsobjekt – Nolato Polymer AB – tillämpade ett belöningssystem med en föga motiverande inverkan. Mot bakgrund av detta gavs intrycket att företaget har utformat ett belöningssystem i brist på kännedom om vilka sakförhållanden som personalen upplever sig motiverade och belönade av; därmed mister belöningssystemet sin huvudsakliga funktion. Denna redogörelse besvarar uppsatsens forskningsfrågor och syfte.

    Anställda med högre löner föredrar icke-materiella individuella belöningar, medan de med lägre löner ger företräde åt materiella belöningar. Därav är inkomstnivån, enligt vår analys, den demografiska aspekten som har en central plats gällande arbetsmotivation.

    Låt oss understryka att "det optimala belöningssystemet" som passar alla situationer och företag är en utopi. Belöningssystemet torde istället ha en situationsanpassad hybridbaserad utformning utifrån den verksamheten som bedrivs.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present an overview of the Swedish listed companies and their compliance with the Code and its normative rules for independent decision-making.

     Methodology: The authors have read and delved into the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance. The authors have chosen to study the enforcement of the code based on independent bracing guidelines. The study was conducted through a combined quantitative and qualitative approach. The study is based on primary data collected in the form of companies' corporate governance reports, which have been supplemented by structured interviews.

    Frame of reference: Swedish ownership structure and concentrated ownership, self regulation and normative guidelines, institutional theory and earlier research on this topic.

    Empirical foundations: A comparison of the selected companies has been based on the independence rules of the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance. A specific company has been presented with the company's application of the code, interviews have also been done with this company to increase the understanding of the empirical basis further.

    Conclusions: There are several flaws with the code and how it is applied today. The Code is complied with in an inadequate manner, and in some cases not complied with at all. The authors of this paper believe that the code, through normative guidelines, will not have a self-regulating effect on an independent decision-making in companies in Sweden.

    Abstract [en]

    This study aims to give a fuller understanding of performance anxiety among social workers. The study’s empirical material consists of qualitative interviews with social workers who have performance anxiety. Its theoretical framework is about performance, the social workers’ identity and street-level bureaucracy, the demand, control and support theory, and New Public Management. The results show that the social workers feel inadequate, and that it is hard to find a balance between support for the clients and the resources available. Social workers are driven by the will to do good for their clients when there is a constant lack of time and resources. The collision this causes creates the feeling of inadequacy which we use to define performance anxiety in this study. The results show that this collision was most difficult when the social workers had just graduated or when they came to a new place of work. Support from their bosses and colleagues has great impact on the way they perceive their performance anxiety. They have higher demands on themselves than their bosses do. Performance anxiety can either be a source of creativity or lead to a feeling of not being able to do anything.

    Adoption of new innovations and rejection of older technologies in the healthcare is not a straightforward process. A number of circumstances and problems must be considered such as increased access to better technology and application of new knowledge certainly providing improved health, but the development and use of new medical technology also means increased healthcare costs. Health and medical care as a result must be able to balance the three objectives cost effectiveness, cost control and promote the development of innovations. These are facts which are already mentioned in the introduction and background and the areas will therefore be treated forward in the thesis. With this background information in mind the purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyze the introduction of new innovations and the rejection of older technologies in health care. The study is limited to Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset in Stockholm. The hospital is large, one of the main major in Europe and together with Karolinska Institutet they lead the medical development forward in Sweden. The Department of Medical Technology, The Procurement section, The Radiology Clinic in Solna and SLL Innovation participated in this study and the persons involved consequently contributed with their knowledge, experience and views on technologies and innovations. In this thesis the key factors will be analyzed that affect the introduction of new innovations and the rejection of older technologies in healthcare considered from a hospital perspective. To carry out this investigation case study is used as a research method. A descriptive and interpretative method of analysis is used to process data. Three innovations are included in the study, Stick Stop, directional instrument to perform cutting of a femoral and Fast Cut, (the latter is a clipboard function). These three innovations are described by a number of persons involved. Based on the thesis questions and result, sex themes have been processed, which are applied in the analysis section. In order to evaluate the result in this thesis and compare with previous research on innovations, two theories and a theoretical model have been used. These two theories come from a famous American in the field of innovations, Everett M Rogers, (Diffusion of innovations 2003) and the theoretical model comes from Kerstin Roback in Sweden who has developed the IDD-model in her paper (2006), Medical Device Innovation: The integrated processes of invention, diffusion and deployment. The essential in this thesis and study is to prove, regarding the diffusion and introduction of new innovations in the health care, the importance of social factors in a social system. The importance of a social system is addressed in Everett M Rogers theory, four main elements in the diffusions of innovations, (the innovation, communication channels, time, a social system). Examples of social factors in a social system according to the result of the investigation and analysis are; hierarchy, territorial thinking, conspiracy, resistance to change, conservatism, group thinking, prestige, authority, status and reputation. One of the conclusions of the thesis is that social factors are likely to affect involved actors to make a reliable decision and they may therefore be important for decision-making at the spread and introduction of new innovations. Other facts relevant for the introduction of new innovations in health care is about regulations, regulatory agencies, CE marking, patient security, clinical trials, risk analysis, health economic evaluations, cost efficiency, net benefit, the need for innovation, etc. as this study exhibit as well as previous data. When it is about the rejection of older technologies in health care, the transition from open surgery to micro-invasive surgery and endoscopy is well described by several informants. That is an example of technological change that occurs all over the world, as well as the plain x-ray is on the way out, three- dimensional imaging modalities will take over more and more. The advantages of using micro-invasive surgery and endoscopic compared to opened surgery are among other; faster recovery of the patient after surgery, less cost for health care despite initially expensive investment, faster surgery or interventions compared to open surgery and shorter waiting time for treatment. Taken together, the whole community benefits from this type of technology change. It is also important to recall the basic mission of health care, to provide good health care for the entire population on equal terms, 2 §, Hälso- och sjukvårdslag (1982:763). The development of new innovations and new technologies is therefore an essential element in order to give all citizens improved health on equal terms.

    Denna uppsats undersöker genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av material från åren 2000-2015 eventuella förändringar bland nyhetstexter som förekommit i svensk press då cannabislegalisering tas upp på nyhetsplats.

    Uppsatsen undersöker vilka källor som kommer till tals i de texter som analyserats. Uppsatsen undersöker även förekomst av argument och företeelser som går att koppla till debatten och diskussionen kring avkriminalisering och legalisering av cannabis.

    Undersökningens resultat tolkas för att försöka utröna eventuell förändring över tid, och analyseras ur ett dagordningsteoretiskt synsätt. Över tid så har fler aspekter av legaliseringsfrågan än tidigare tagits upp i rapporteringen på nyhetsplats, och bland dessa har den största ökningen skett sett till att använda cannabis som läkemedel. En annan variabel som ökat under perioden för undersökningen är vetenskaplig argumentation. Förekomst av terment ”knark” i samband med rapporteringen har avtagit under undersökningsperioden, på samma sätt somuttryck för ett enhetligt perspektiv på narkotika har.

    Politiker är den källan som vanligast förekommer i rapporteringen, och politik är den vanligaste anledningen till rapporteringen kring cannabislegalisering i Sverige under de åren som undersökningen spänner över.

    Prideparaden är kulmen för det som kallas Stockholms Pridefestival. Det är ett årligt evenemang och lockar många människor för att både delta och åskåda. Paraden är unik på så sätt att den har ett politiskt syfte som når ut genom glädje och festligheter. Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka och analysera hur Prideparaden har gestaltats i Svenska Dagbladets nyhetsrapportering mellan åren 1979-2018, men också hur diskursen haft en påverkan på gestaltningens förändring. Frågeställningarna behandlar vilka skillnader och likheter det finns gällande vilka ämnen som betonas och vilka aktörer som omtalas i artiklarna, samt vilken förändring vi kan se i rapporteringens gestaltning över tid rörande Prideparaden i relation till diskursen. Metoden som används är en kritisk diskursanalys, där totalt 14 artiklar analyseras. Urvalet är begränsat till artiklar som enbart rör paraden. Därefter görs en komparativ analys av resultatet. Studiens resultat visar att det finns skillnader i vilka ämnen som betonas samt vilka aktörer som får komma till tals. Gällande diskursens påverkan på framförallt rapporteringen besvaras detta genom en diskussion då det inte går att dra några generella slutsatser kring resultatet.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: The companys internal innovation functions decreases while companies choose to apply open innovation, cross-border cooperation. Lots of research shows that open innovation involves several benefits and opportunities, but also challenges. Few studies, however, illustrates the connection between complex innovation processes and the application of cross-border cooperation. Does the number of complex components in innovation development processes affect in which constellation companies choose to cooperate with external parties? This is something the authors ask themselves.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the complexity of innovation development processes affects the extent to which companies choose to cooperate with external parties. The study will also investigate what constellation companies choose to collaborate with external parties based on the complexity of innovation development processes. Incentives for cross-border cooperation in the development of complex innovations will also be studied.

    Implementation: Qualitative data was obtained through five interviews with four Innovation leaders and a process manager for innovation development, regarding complex innovations within Ikea. Quantitative data was obtained through a survey that was answered by all Innovation Leaders and their employees (28 respondents in total).

    Results: The study indicates that the more complex an innovation development process is, the greater is the likelihood that external parties will gain more insight into more components of the development process. The degree of complexity in the development process also increases the likelihood that inside-out innovation is applied.

    Från att det i början talades väldigt lite om coaching är det idag en mångmiljonsaffär som erkänts som ett effektivt sätt att bidra till utvecklingen av ledare på alla möjliga nivåer i en organisation (McLean, 2012, s 4). Genom att vara en coachande ledare kan man på sikt få mer självgående medarbetare (Chef 2007).

    Två kända definitioner av coaching är den av John Whitmore och den av Susann Gjerde. Gemensamt har de som utgångspunkt att coaching handlar om att utveckla individer och hjälpa dem att hjälpa sig själva genom att aktivt lyssna, ställa öppna frågor och identifiera styrkor hos individer. Det som skiljer dessa definitioner åt är tillvägagångssättet.

    Med denna undersökning vill vi ta reda på hur butikschefer inom mobiloperatören Hi3G tolkar och väver in coaching i sitt ledarskap och vad deras syfte med coaching är. Vi vill veta vilken syn de har på coaching som en ledarskapsstil, hur stor del av deras ledarskap som faktiskt handlar om coaching och vilka effekter det har på deras medarbetare.

    Undersökningen är baserad på både en kvalitativ och en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod där vi kombinerar tre stycken intervjuer med en enkätundersökning besvarad av 34 butikschefer.

    Resultatet visar att butikchefer inom Hi3G har en relativt likartad syn på vad coaching är, samt att de tillämpar och tolkar det ganska snarlikt, men att många saknar tid till att coacha i den utsträckning de skulle vilja. Det kan då i vissa fall leda till att coachande chefer övergår till att bli något av chefer präglade av transaktionellt ledarskap. Transaktionellt ledarskap handlar, tvärtemot coaching, om att de anställda är till för att göra det de har blivit tillsagda och de blir straffade om de inte gör som de ska. Det är en ledarstil där struktur och hierarki är centrala faktorer (Smartbiz u.å.).

    The global expansion of recent decades has led to changes in the modern leadership. Competition has increased between different organizations which has brought new challenges that the leadership of salesforce must relate to. Increased diversity, technological developments and changes in customer relationships are some of the factors that have forced changes in the leadership of sales forces. The modern leadership must be individually adapted instead of the controlling and monitoring function it used to be.

    This study has investigated the leadership in two of Elgiganten consumer electronics stores in terms of leadership impact on sellers' motivation. The emphasis has been on analyzing employees' views on how a leader can create a highly work motivating. This is by examining the factors of which factors that the sales force is motivated by in their work and how to design a leadership that promotes these factors. The study has a qualitative research strategy, previous research and models of leadership within the subject have been selected and tested to study the collected empirical data. Four salesleaders were interviewed and 22 salesmen answered a questionnaire survey.

    The result showed that the sales leaders and salesmen have a similar view on how to conduct a leadership that will increase the work motivation, but it differs between how sales leaders believes they lead and how salesmen perceive their leadership. The conclusion is that a participative management focused on personalization of work, reward depending on the achievement and opportunities for advancement within the organization is the way that makes sellers to perform better.

    Denna uppsats syfte är att undersöka nyhetsurvalet på nyhetsmedierna 24Uppsala och Upsala Nya Tidning för att se hur de skiljer sig åt samt om dessa skillnader går att koppla till respektive tidnings ekonomiska affärsmodell. Teorier kring affärsmodeller, journalistisk logik kontra marknadslogik samt kommersiella nyhetsvärderingskriterier lade basen till denna studie. Genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys undersökte vi hur nyhetsurvalet såg ut tidningarna emellan i fråga om antal artiklar, ämnesval, textlängd, områdesbevakning, bilder samt hur många och vilka intervjupersoner som citerades i artiklarna. Sedan utfördes fyra semistrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer med journalister från respektive tidning.

    Resultatet visade på skillnader i både nyhetsurvalet och de uttalade målsättningarna på respektive nyhetssajt, samt att ambitionerna för tidningarna inte alltid syntes i nyhetsproduktionen. Utifrån resultatet och med det teoretiska ramverket som grund kunde vi dra slutsatserna att deras ekonomiska affärsmodeller påverkar respektive tidnings nyhetsurval och att deras läsare erbjuds olika typer av nyheter.

    Det här är en kvantitativ studie av hur kreditpreferenser hos mikrobolag med en årsomsättning om mindre än 10 miljoner SEK beror av branschtillhörighet och företagsstorlek. Mikrobolag är små bolag med mindre än 10 personer anställda och en årsomsättning på mindre än 2 miljoner euro. Det teoretiska ramverket utgår från asymmetrisk informationsteori och mer specifikt från pecking order theory, POT samt trade off-teorin. Kreditpreferenserna mäts genom två olika parametrar, dels genom mikrobolagens avsättning till periodiseringsfonder vilket kan ses som ett mellanting mellan extern och intern finansiering, dels genom förekomsten av externa lån från kreditinstitut. Branscherna som undersöks är tillverkning samt tjänster vilka anses skilja sig åt vad gäller kreditpreferenser. Tillverkningsbranschen har större anläggningstillgångar vilket anses göra det lättare för dem att få extern kredit enligt trade off-teorin. Tjänstebranschen däremot, med mer immateriella tillgångar skulle då föredra periodiseringsfonder eftersom enligt POT så föredrar mindre företag internt genererat kapital. Ett antal hypoteser ställs upp som sedan testas med chi-två. Resultatet motsäger delvis teorierna. Från studien framgår dock att de undersökta företagen i tjänstebranschen har större preferenser för användning av periodiseringsfond än tillverkningsbranschen. En slutsats från studien är alltså att branschtillhörighet har betydelse för kreditpreferenserna. För företagsstorlek går inte att dra några säkra slutsatser.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: To examine how IR-related press releases affect share price for stock companies, and to explore how said companies practice Investor Relations.

    Methods: The study was conducted using an event study as well as e-interviews. The event study has a quantitative deductive research approach where the market model is used for calculating the abnormal return based on press releases. The e-interviews have a qualitative research approach and follow a semi structured interview guide. The study includes all listed stock companies within the Swedish construction industry and includes press releases from the last decade.

    Theory: The study is based on the efficient market hypothesis and its semi strong form, theories within Investor Relations and previous research.

    Results: The event study shows a significant negative abnormal return during a four day period starting the day after the press release event. The negative abnormal return could derive from investor relations being used by companies as damage control, or that the investors’ expectations are too high as a result of IR. No significant differences in how companies practice IR was found in e-interviews. To the contrary, companies show similar tendencies in IR practice. It can be concluded that stock companies, through investor relations, are able to affect their share price.

    The purpose of this essay was to study some selected magazine articles by examining how the concept of child poverty is produced in the public debate, and to see if the definition of the term has changed over time. The theoretical approach on which this study is based has been used as a tool to provide better understanding on the subject. Furthermore, theories of consumer society, the "collateral damage" and the theory of welfare regimes have been used. In the previous research presented in the paper focuses on linking children and families living in precarious economic conditions, consumer standards and welfare systems that characterize society.

    This study has a qualitative approach as it attempts to capture and increase understanding of how the concept of child poverty can be understood from a Swedish context. The study is based on newspaper articles that are studied using a structural text analysis. Consequently, the analysis is divided into three themes, the first is the role of children in the family, and the second are political decisions and welfare role of the state and the third theme is the importance of the charity. Finally, the study's results indicate that the definition of child poverty has changed over time and also that the child has received more attention in the public debate.

    Denna kvantitativa och kvalitativa studie undersöker vilken information om de sju vanligaste hjärt- och kärlsjukdomarna i Sverige, som når allmänheten respektive sjukvården. Syftet är att undersöka och diskutera hur stor täckning varje sjukdom får i Svenska Dagbladet och Dagens Medicin samt möjliga faktorer som kan bidra till att sätta dagordningen inom området hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar. Studiens centrala forskningsfrågor är därför hur ofta varje hjärt- och kärlsjukdom förekommer som artiklar i respektive tidning, samt vilka skillnader och likheter som finns avseende artiklarnas innehåll och utformning.

    Den kvantitativa undersökningen omfattar totalt 3 719 artiklar om hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar under tioårsperioden 2002-10-31 till 2012-10-31. Av dessa har 132 artiklar valts ut för en kvantitativ innehållsanalys. Genom att jämföra 66 artiklar i Svenska Dagbladet med 66 artiklar i Dagens Medicin, har vi undersökt hur frekvent artiklar om de olika sjukdomarna förekommer samt vilka källor, perspektiv och vinklar artiklarna har. Genom en kompletterande intervjustudie har vi även velat få journalisters syn på nyhetsvärdering, nyhetsurval och utformning av nyheterna, samt vilka möjligheter de anser sig ha att kunna påverka dagordningar och vilka yttre faktorer som i sin tur kan påverka journalisternas dagordning.

    Analysen tar teoretiskt avstamp i agenda-settingteorin som menar att de ämnen som får störst utrymme i medierna också blir de mest centrala i publikens medvetanden, men också att publikens vilja och behov återverkar på mediernas val av ämnen.

    Studiens resultat visar stora likheter mellan tidningarna, vilket vi inte hade förväntat oss. Resultaten från både den kvantitativa och kvalitativa studien visar att både Svenska Dagbladet och Dagens Medicin främst använder forskare och forskningsresultat som källor. Användning av case, det vill säga drabbade individer, var mindre förekommande i Svenska Dagbladet än förväntat, dock något vanligare än i Dagens Medicin vilket däremot stämde med vår hypotes. Det mest anmärkningsvärda resultatet visar att en del hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar får väsentligt mycket mer utrymme än andra, i båda tidningarna. Exempelvis stroke med sammanlagt 1 368 artiklar medan hjärtflimmer endast förekommer med 44 artiklar. Detta trots att omkring 220 000 svenskar lider av hjärtflimmer och att det är en vanlig orsak till stroke. Vår förhoppning är att resultatet av denna studie ska inspirera till vidare forskning om vad en obalanserad medietäckning inom detta område kan få för konsekvenser.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to build knowledge about how young athletes can build their personal brand.

    Methodology: The study uses a qualitative approach in order to answer the research questions and the purpose of the study with a systematic literature review, to identify key factors for building a strong personal brand and apply these on a young athletes personal brand.

    Empiricism and analysis: The empirical results is based on the literature review of former research, which has been carefully evaluated and analyzed inductively from marketing theories to identify themes to serve the purpose and research questions of the study. The empirical results has been compared with autobiographies of known athletes.

    Findings: This study identifies five key factors within building your personal brand for a young athlete; identity, image, trust, strategy and reflection. These key factors create a circular model where the journey is most important, not the destination. The authors of this study suggest that new research can build upon the model and implement it on a young athlete where the findings could prove to be useful in practise, not only in theory.

    Uppsatsen undersöker hur det finländska partiet Sannfinländarna framställs i sex olika tidningar i samband med riksdagsvalet 2011. Studien är komparativ och utgår från gestaltningsteorin och tidigare forskning om populistiska partier i medierna. Den bygger på en kvantitativ innehållsanalys gjord på utvalt material från Hufvudstadsbladet, Vasabladet, Nya Åland, Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet och Dagens Nyheter, sammantaget 141 artiklar som publicerades under 14 dagar i samband med valet i april 2011.

    Studien visar att de som röstar på Sannfinländarna inte får komma till tals i medierna. Även de Sannfinländska politikerna är underrepresenterade i materialet. När de väl får uttala sig så bemöts sällan deras påståenden av journalisten.

    Undersökningen visar också att Sannfinländarna ofta slängs in i alla möjliga sammanhang i de finlandssvenska tidningarna. De nämns i förbifarten som något negativt, fastän artikeln i sig inte handlar om varken Sannfinländarna eller riksdagspolitik.

    Det finns inte en enda artikel som redovisar något från Sannfinländarnas partiprogram. Överlag är de få analysenheter som sakligt och öppet redovisar Sannfinländarnas ståndpunkter.

    Background: Emerging economies is more fragile for global actions than developed markets, and they struggle to keep the economic growth consistent. Brazil, as an emerging economy, has one of the higher growth in the world, but the country has had some difficulties during the last years and foreign direct investments have decreased. Most foreign direct investments activities tend to go north-to-north, and the most common investment strategy is acquisition and the success is related to the type of activity and industry.

    Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate what type of cross-border acquisitions companies choose to be involved in and which financial factors have the greatest impact, when entering the Brazilian market.

    Theory: The theoretical framework consists of theories related to acquisition strategies to answer formulated purpose. Following theories have been used as an analytical tool in the thesis: merger and acquisition waves, horisontal, vertical and conglomerate strategies and information asymmetry.

    Method: This study is based on a mixed method design with inductive and deductive approach. Statistical data have been gathered together with four semistructured interviews to gain data about ingoing acquisitions in Brazil. The statistical data have been gathered from the database Zephyr.

    Conclusion: To summarize the conclusions, ingoing cross-border acquisitions in Brazil follow a wave-like pattern that is mostly depending on horisontal acquisitions, were the financial factors that have the greatest impact is information, taxation, labor and laws.

    Placed in an institution, what happens next? A study concerning how social workers handle the after-care of adolescents who earlier has been placed in an institution is written by Therese Wester and Sanna Sjölander Wirlöf. The purpose of the study is to understand and explain how social workers handle the after-care. This study is based on an organizational perspective since the after-care has been studied in relation to the structure of the organization and the laws and guidelines that the organization has to relate to. The method that has been used is semi-structured interviews with six social workers in different municipalities in Stockholm. The material that has been collected is then processed by coding and thematization. The theoretical framework that has been applied is the organizational theory and street-level bureaucracy, these theories has been used to analyze the results to answer the purpose of the study. The results shows how the structure of the organization, laws and guidelines and also how the community affects the work concerning after-care. The interviews show that the approach regarding after-care is similar between the social workers but the way they work with after-care is different between the communities. This creates different conditions concerning the after-care of the adolescents.

    Abstract [en]

    This paper examines the effect of governance on inequality, specifically if improvements in the World Bank’s Worldwide Governance Indicators affect inequality as measured by two Gini coefficients: Market Gini, before taxes and redistribution, and Net Gini, after taxes and redistribution.

    The data for the Gini measurements was taken from the Standardized World Income Inequality Database (SWIID) and the data for the Worldwide Governance Indicators was taken from the World Bank. Data for fifteen (15) years, from the start of the Worldwide Governance Indicators until 2013, was combined with data from SWIID for the same years. In all, data from one hundred fifty-six (156) countries with a full set of six (6) indicators for the years that had at least one corresponding Gini measurements were used in this study: in total one thousand seven hundred and forty-seven (1747) observations.

    In a pooled OLS regression, controlling for growth with the variable GDP per Capita expressed as a per cent (%) change on an annual basis, the individual indicators gave the following results, where a positive sign indicates increased inequality and vice versa: Control of Corruption and Regulatory Quality showed a positive sign for both Gini measurements. Rule of Law, Government Effectiveness, Political Stability and the Absence of Violence/Terrorism, gave a negative sign for both Gini measurements. Voice and Accountability showed a positive sign for Market Gini and a negative sign for Net Gini.

    The fact that an improvement in Control of Corruption increased inequality both before and after taxes and redistribution was unexpected and should be further researched.

    Harmonisering av redovisningsprinciper mellan länder inom EU har försökt uppnås under lång tid och från och med 2005 har det blivit obligatoriskt för noterade företag inom EU att tillämpa IFRS och IAS vid årsbokslut. En av IAS standarder är IAS 40 – Förvaltningsfastigheter där företag som innehar förvaltningsfastigheter kan välja att värdera sina fastigheter antingen enligt anskaffningsvärdemetoden eller verkligtvärdemetoden. Dock väljer de flesta företag att följa IFRS rekommendation, att värdera till verkligt värde.

    När företag väljer att värdera enligt verkligtvärdemetoden kan värdering ske antingen internt inom företaget eller externt med hjälp av externa värderingsmän.

    Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka hur svenska och brittiska företag värderar sina förvaltningsfastigheter (internt/externt) och om det råder harmonisering mellan länderna och varför de valt att värdera som de gör.

    Vår studie innefattar 15 svenska företag och 48 brittiska företag som är noterade på respektive börs och redovisar förvaltningsfastigheter i sin årsredovisning.

    Vi har valt att använda oss utav en metodkombination av både kvantitativa och kvalitativa metoder för att kunna uppfylla vårt syfte.

    Undersökningen visade att de svenska och brittiska företagen föredrar olika värderingsmetoder när de värderar förvaltningsfastigheter. I Storbritannien var det tydligt att den externa metoden föredras medan i Sverige var både metoderna populära. Detta pekar på att det inte råder harmonisering vid värdering av förvaltningsfastigheterna i Storbritannien och Sverige efter införandet av IAS 40.

    The purpose of the study was to find out how well companies succeed in trying to convey the identity of their trademarks to the consumers.

    The study was quantitative with a survey design. A sample of 109 respondents participated. Brand identity and brand image was the focus of the study and was measured in three companies; Odd Molly, Filippa K and Björn Borg. These three were selected partly because of their different profiles. One survey was sent to the companies and one survey was distributed to the consumers. The majority of the questions in the surveys were based on a model designed to measure brand identity and brand image and gap in between them.

    The study presents three central theories; Profile, Image and Identity, Brand Equity and The Corporate Personality Scale. The first two gives a background to the concept of the words. The Corporate Personality Scale was created and designed to assess image and identity and the gaps in between them.

    The results showed that there were gaps in between the brand identity and the brand image in all three of the selected companies. However there were also signs of coherence between them.

    The companies succeeded in some part, in their trying to convey the identity of their trademarks to the consumers. There were both clear gaps and clear coherence between Brand Identity and Brand Image. In some cases the image was graded higher than the identity and vice versa.

    Abstract [sv]

    Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva vilka metoder det finns enligt rekommendationer och standarder för redovisning av varumärken och jämföra det med vilka metoder som används av företag i praktiken genom att studera deras respektive årsredovisningar.

    Metod: Studien präglas av en kvalitativ metod med kvantitativa inslag där en semi-strukturerad intervju blandas med data från årsredovisningar. Resultatet från intervjun ska sedan jämföras med resultaten från studerandet av årsredovisningarna.

    Teori: Teorin består av en kartläggning av de värderingsmetoder som finns, definitioner av immateriella tillgångar och varumärken samt en presentation av tidigare studier inom ämnet.

    Empiri: Resultatet visade på att flera värderingsmetoder som finns enligt teorin inte används i praktiken. Den mest förekommande värderingsmetoden är den avkastningsbaserade värderingsmetoden och då främst royalty- relief-metoden. Företag med internt upparbetade varumärken kan inte redovisa dessa på grund av det redovisningspraxis som råder idag. 

    Slutsats: Varumärket har fått en större betydelse ur ett finansiellt perspektiv, trots detta är det sällan varumärket redovisas som en egen post. Detta skulle kunna tyda på att det behövs en utveckling av de standarder och praxis som finns inom redovisningen i dagens läge.
