    Abstract [sv]

    Björn Skogar (f. 1942) är idéhistoriker, religionsdidaktiker och luthersk teolog. I avhandlingen Viva vox och den akademiska religionen behandlade han det tidiga 1900-talets svenska teologihistoria. Detta arbete har sedan följts upp av fortsatt forskning om teologin och det teologiska språkets möjlighet att tolka livet. Skogar har sedan 1976 varit verksam som lärarutbildare. Han har haft en avgörande roll för utformandet av en religionsvetenskaplig utbildning med didaktisk inriktning samt för skapandet av ett religionsdidaktiskt forskningsnätverk i Sverige. Den genomgående teoretiska grundansatsen i Björns gärning har i första hand varit den filosofiska hermeneutiken.

    Denna bok är en hyllning till Björn som vän, kollega och samtalspartner. Bidragen är skrivna av tjugosju personer som under olika perioder och i olika sammanhang haft privilegiet att få vara Björns kollegor.

    Abstract [en]

    This study discusses and examines the alternative teaching materials in religion class amongst seven teachers in Stockholm region. As religion is a complex subject to both learn and to teach it may be beneficial to use alternative texts to show the diversity of the subject. The aim of this study was to examine why teachers use news articles and other articles from daily magazines in their religion class. I also examined how the teachers motivated their choices of teaching materials. The study is qualitative and the empirical work was done by interviewing seven teachers in religion. The interviews were face to face and through email correspondence. The interviews were either recorded or noted. The result indicated that the teachers use news articles in their class to give their students a diverse picture of the subject. It also showed that some of the teachers found that text books often are outdated and do not necessarily show the complexity of the subject, hence giving them enough reason to chose the alternative teaching materials such as news articles. The study also found that the teachers using news articles believed their students were more engaged and curious through the new material than the text books. In addition, the teachers also found that their students were more able to evaluate and critique the news articles and the text books, giving them another reason to use news articles. In conclusion, the study showed the reasons and benefits of using news articles and how this was motivated by the teachers. It gives a diverse teaching of the subject religion and makes the students more engaged and up to date.

    Syfte och frågeställningar

    Studien ämnar undersöka hur lärare i ämnet religionskunskap arbetar mot främlingsfientlighet, hur dem ser på religionskunskapen som medel i detta arbete samt att undersöka vad lärarna har för erfarenheter av främlingsfientlighet inom ramen för skolan.

    Metod

    Studien har genomförts med en kvalitativ ansats, där jag intervjuat fem gymnasielärare i ämnet religionskunskap. Intervjuerna strukturerades på samma sätt med hjälp av ett förarbetat frågeformulär. Då ett färdigställt frågeformulär ger möjligheter för tolkningar av frågorna har jag använt mig av följdfrågor för att leda in informanterna åt samma håll.

    Resultat

    Mitt resultat visar att samtliga lärare ansåg att religionskunskapen som medel var ett mycket bra verktyg för att arbeta mot främlingsfientliga åsikter. Både i förebyggande syfte då ämnet anses beröra det främlingsfientliga per automatik, men även som en arena där diskussioner och givande debatter äger rum då främlingsfientliga åsikter yttras. Religionskunskapen blev ett forum som gav eleverna en möjlighet till egna erfarenheter av det som ansågs vara främmande. De moment som lärarna ansåg vara väl fungerande i arbetet mot främlingsfientlighet var främst genom studiebesök där de fick träffa religiösa representanter som oftast gav dem en ny och verklig bild av hur de människorna är men också vad det gör. Det andra momentet lärarna menade fungerade bra var rollspel och debatter där eleverna fick leva sig in i en karaktär. Upplevelsen och själva förståelsen för hur en annan människa kan tänka blev enligt lärarna där uppenbar och gjorde avtryck på eleverna i positiv bemärkelse. De främlingsfientliga åsikterna menar lärarna ofta grundar sig i något de väljer att kalla för okunskap, en okunskap om främmande människor, kulturer, etniciteter och religioner. Okunskapen i sig menar både lärarna och min teoretiska utgångspunkt blir till kunskap då ett verkligt möte sker mellan det som är främmande och dem själva, socialisation och integration är nyckeln till en ökad förståelse och acceptans. Lärarna menade att den bästa metoden och strategin är att hantera situationerna direkt när dom uppstår och aldrig blunda eller hantera ett problem vid senare tillfälle. En viktig aspekt menar lärarna är att det är dem som skall styra samtalet eller diskussionen för att det ska bli gynnande och att det hålls på en bra nivå.

    Abstract [en]

    he expression "religiously unmusical" has become a catchphrase for many, since it was introduced by Max Weber a century ago. In this paper the question is asked whether the concepts of religiosity and musicality can be used to throw light on each other. A philosophical anthropology inspired by fundamental ontology is the basis for the investigation. It is concluded that viewing religiosity in the light of musicality can be fruitful in order to interpret and conceptualize religious phenomena as they appear in our world today. And, vice versa, a religious terminology can be fruitfully used to characterise much of what happens in the music scene.

    Abstract [en]

    The overall aim of this bachelor thesis is to discover the portrayal of atheism in eight textbooks, published by established publishers and authors. And through that see if there is a secularist norm in the textbooks. The eight textbooks are written in accordance with the curriculum for the mandatory, non-confessional school subject Religious education, used in upper secondary schools.

    The result of this thesis is tied in to the four different themes of the analysis: 

    • Atheism as Marxism, existentialism? 
    • A secularist norm? 
    • A religious norm? 
    • The textbooks discussion and factual issues? Related to the keywords 

    The findings of this bachelor thesis indicate that there can be a secularist norm as well a religious norm. This has been presented through the textbooks description of atheism and the relevant keywords. The thesis has also demonstrated that the portrayal of atheism is linked to the description of Marxism and existentialism among other non-religious worldviews, such as humanism and secular humanism. 

    The result of this bachelor thesis is also linked to Karin Kittelmann Flensners thesis Religious Education in Contemporary Pluralistic Sweden, especially her secular discourse.

    The prescribed means to engage with the past through a variety of culturally upheld techniques is receiving wider attention within the humanities today. This is partly due to the growing field of so-called 'cultural memory studies'. Religion is typically evoked in these circumstances as an exemplary entry into processes of long-term cultural mediation, and the different interests permeating the maintenance and obfuscation of a time-honoured past. The article is devoted to a concept that has attracted comparatively little attention among students of cultural memory: the crypt and its various analogies to the question of remembrance without memory.

    From the point of view of the halakhah, there is no way for a Jew to leave Judaism, regardless of if s/he was born a Jew or converted. Although a person may formally and ritually convert to another religion, according to the halakhah s/he remains a Jew. That said, it is clear that there is great variety in how this can be interpreted. Some of those who have left Judaism and joined other religions no longer see themselves as Jews. Others maintain dual identities, for instance as Jewish Buddhists. Still others claim never to have left Judaism, but are not recognised as Jews by mainstream Judaism, like the Jesus-believing Messianic Jews.
