    I samtidshistoriska frågor nr 1 presenteras utgångspunkter och preliminär inriktning för projektet Olof Palme i sin tid. Projektet är ett samarbete mellan statsvetare och historiker i Stockholm, Göteborg och Örebro och har sin hemvist vid Samtidshistoriska institutet vid Södertörns högskola. Det har också utvecklats i nära samarbete med Arbetarrörelsens arkiv och bibliotek, där merparten av Olof Palmes arkiv finns samlat.

    Abstract [en]

    The first part gives a chronological overview of the Swedish ‘1968’, in this article defined as a phenomenon with its roots in the late 1950s and it’s end around 1980. Three phases are identified: a ‘liberal’ until 1965, a ‘red’ in the late 1960s and the ‘diversified’ 1970s. Underlying this time schedule are two characteristics of the Swedish ‘1968’ in its extended form: the role of the social movements and the interaction between old and new movements; and the unique role of the intellectuals. The second part discusses the (late and limited) research so far on this topic in Sweden. The academic works are still few and the critical debate little developed. One of the topics discussed is to what extent ‘1968’ was something fundamentally new and to what extent it was influenced by older social movements.

    Abstract [sv]

    Det första fallet av aids i Sverige diagnostiserades år 1982. Hiv var då ett okänt virus, och aids ett tecken på en snar död. Hiv spreds till en början i redan utsatta grupper som homosexuella män, intravenösa missbrukare, prostituerade och blödarsjuka.

    En vanlig reaktion på sjukdomen var rädsla och stigmatisering, inte minst från mediernas sida. Men det bildades också grupper och organisationer som sökte stödja de drabbade, motverka fördomar och arbeta för adekvata behandlingar. Här var bland andra Noaks ark, Venhälsan, Kvinnocirkeln och RFHP (Riksförbundet för hivpositiva) sedermera Hiv-Sverige. Hur arbetade dessa organisationer och vad ville de uppnå? Samtidshistoriska institutet vid Södertörns högskola samlade några av aktivisterna till ett vittneseminarium på temat ”Hivepidemin och rörelserna”.

    Abstract [en]

    The aim of this study is to investigate how a multicultural society can be reflected in the religious education. This essay will compare how teachers in grade 3 reflects about their religious education in relation to the society’s cultural diversity and it will also analyze how the teachers’ pupils think about religion. I have used the following questions:

    • Do the teachers believe that the cultural diversity affects their religious education and if so, how and in what way?
    • How do the teachers describe teaching religion in relation to the multicultural society?
    • What are the pupils’ perceptions of religion in a context of cultural diversity?

    The investigation is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with four different teachers and a questionnaire study with 62 pupils that generates both quantitative and qualitative data. The theoretical approach of the study is grounded on different definitions of religion and on a theory called frame factor theory which was produced by Urban Dahllöf. The result of the study shows that the teachers believe that it is important to adapt their religious education to the cultural diversity. When comparing the teachers’ descriptions about their religious education it shows that all of the teachers describe factors that can influence their teaching of religion in a multicultural society. The questionnaire study shows similarities and differences in the way pupils think about religion but the most common thing is that most of the pupils associate God with religion.

    Studien undersöker hur könsfördelningen ser ut på den samtida konstscenen i Sverige. I vilken utsträckning kön representeras på ett jämställt sätt inom utställningsproduktion antas kopplat till hur de delaktiga i beslutsprocessen förhåller sig till externt jämställdhetsarbete. Tre kategorier av organisationer studeras för att kunna avgöra om det finns skillnader i tillvägagångssätt. Officiella dokument från varje organisation undersöks för att förstå hur de formellt förhåller sig till jämställdhetsarbete. Statistik av den faktiska könsfördelningen för varje organisation tas fram från de två senaste årens utställningsarkiv. Studien innefattar även intervjuer med en beslutsfattande person från respektive organisation; två statliga konstinstitutioner, två privata konsthallar och två privata gallerier. Undersökningen syftar till att skapa förståelse för vad som ligger till grund för valet av konstnärer. Studien har sin teoretiska utgångspunkt i institutionell teori och använder en del av teorin som kallas lämplighetslogiken. Teorin förklarar individuellt beteende som beroende av sin kontext, utifrån de tre aspekterna identitet, regler och situation. Slutsatserna för undersökningen är att samtliga respondenter visar en stor medvetenhet kring könsfördelningen men att andra variabler tenderar att vara viktigare i valet av konstnärer. Hur organisationerna formellt förhåller sig till jämställdhetsarbete har en begränsad påverkan på det praktiska utfallet. Desto mer betydelsefullt är huruvida dessa värderingar finns implementerade i företagskulturen och hos de som är delaktiga i beslutsprocessen.

    Abstract [en]

    Against the background of previous research regarding the interplay between pictures and text in teaching materials and picturebooks which shown an ambivalent approach to the use of pictures in narrative texts (Carney & Levin 2002) (Jonsson 2006) I set off to investigate the interplay between pictures and text in childrens litterature with the aim to illuminate how different interplays could be used in teaching. The study proceeded from the following questions:

    • In which ways do pictures and texts interplay in some newly published reading textbooks?

    • In which ways do pictures and texts interplay in some commonly read picturebooks for 8 year-old children?

    • Which didactic consequenses could derive from this?

    Through a multimodal literacy-theory I analyzed three commonly read picturebooks for eight year-olds and three newly published reading textbooks in which I labeled the pictures using an analyzing-tool created by Joel R Levin, professor of Educational Psychology vid Department of Educational Psychology, University of Arizona where the relation between text and picture can be representative, decorative, organizing or informative, or interpretive as Levin puts it (Levin 1981).

    The total result showed that most text-picture-interplays are representative och informative, two interplays in which the reader is invited to interpret, make predictions, and make connections to own experiences or other stories. The organizing interplays create preconceptions and invites the reader to summarize the content and retell sequences or the whole story. The decorative interplays could through a multmodal literacy-theory rise questions about genres and social codes. The interplays between pictures and text are found being a great resource rather than an obstacle.

    This study aims to apply a design theoretical perspective on museum educators in a natural sciencemuseum to see which didactic choices they make. This study proceeds from the following questions:

    How is the scientific content of the exhibition orchestrated? Which semiotic resources do the museum educators uses? How do the museum tutors reason for their didactic choices?

    The study is based on seven observations of five different museum educators teaching seven different classes in the younger ages in one specific exhibition. It is also based on one interview with three of the museum educators. The design theory of learning, which is the theory that this study is analysed through, is mostly based on the studies by Staffan Selander and Gunther Kress (2010). The result of the investigation shows, in short, that the scientific content is orchestrated like a journey through time where different sceneries represent the geological ages of the earth. The museum educators uses a combination of multiple semiotic resources. The interview showed what the museum educators wanted to be the key words in their teaching: understanding, curiosity, desire, to arouse interest and willingness to take on the science glasses and ask yourself questions like 'How can you know that?' and 'How can you find out?'.

    The purpose of this study is to examine how preschool teachers work with signs as alternative and additional communication in preschool to promote the development of children's language development. My questions of issue are how do preschool teachers use signs as alternative and additional communication in preschool, how do the teachers motivate and describe their work and what experiences does the preschool teachers have with signs as alternative and additional communication in preschool?

    My method of this study has been qualitative where interviews were made with six preschool teachers. To analyze the result of the interviews I have used the socio-cultural perspective by Vygotskij, that describes how important the language and interaction between people are. I also used Vygotskijs model the nearest development zone to analyze the importance of interplay between the preschool teachers and children. I have also used previous research and studies to strengthen my study.

    The study results are that all preschool teachers work with signs as alternative and additional communication with the purpose to develop all children’s communication. All the teachers had good experiences and a positive attitude to signs as language development for children. The preschool teachers consider it necessary to have more education in signs and to get follow-up of their work.

    The issue investigated is the nature of reward-based crowdfunding being too influenced by visual media and the creator’s personalities rather than focusing on the creator’s ability to run a business and the business plan. Through Source Credibility Theory three sets of categories for the studied variables were developed in addition to one category concerning external actors. The variables aim to measure the visual elements, the honesty and personal credibility of the creator as well as the business plan. A sample of 150 campaigns was picked from the platform Kickstarter, which consisted of half successful and half failed campaigns. Each campaign was observed individually and the communicated elements were recorded and compiled for analysis. The variables were recorded as binary or continuous and were tested through chi-square, regression and correlation tests. The study concludes that some business plan variables are often communicated for both failed and successful projects, however rarely in detail. The campaigns are often utilising visual elements but the honesty and personal credibility of the creator is not as common. Generally the successful campaigns are communicating all variables to a greater extent than the failed projects.

    Som en följd av det ökade behovet av global kapitalanskaffning har kravet på jämförbar redovisning mellan länder ökat. EU har därför som målsättning att skapa en mer harmoniserad och effektiv kapitalmarknad inom unionen. I juli 2002 antog Europaparlamentet och rådet en förordning om tillämpning av internationella redovisningsstandarder, IAS-förordningen. Sedan 1 januari, 2005 är det krav på att alla noterade europeiska företag i koncernredovisningen skall tillämpa de internationella redovisningsstandarderna, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) och International Accounting Standards (IAS). IAS 39 standarden uppfattas som den svåraste och mest komplexa av IAS/IFRS standarderna. Samtidigt är det centrala syftet med harmoniseringsprocessen inom EU att skapa en mer jämförbar, enhetlig och transparant kapitalmarknad.

    Vårt syfte är att skapa en förståelse för olika svenska bankers, myndigheters samt redovisningskunnigas inställning till harmoniseringen av redovisningen och konsekvenserna av IAS 39 tillämpningen. Utifrån detta skall vi analysera om tillämpningen av IAS 39 går emot harmoniseringens mål om att skapa en mer jämförbar och rättvisande redovisning. För att skapa en ökad förståelse av respondenternas uppfattning av harmoniseringen av redovisningen och IAS 39 har vi valt ett kvalitativt angreppssätt på vår fallstudie. För att besvara uppsatsens syfte har vi valt att intervjua företrädare för tre banker samt fyra myndigheter eller redovisningskunniga.

    Det vi kommer fram till i vår undersökning är att harmoniseringen av redovisningen till följd av införandet av det internationella regelverket IAS/IFRS uppfattas som något positivt av samtliga respondenter. Då länderna själva får välja vem som skall tillämpa IAS/IFRS regelverket leder det till en sämre jämförbarhet mellan de olika ländernas redovisningar. Respondenterna anser att sambandet mellan redovisning och beskattning utgör ett hinder för tillämpningen av IAS/IFRS i juridisk person. Valmöjligheterna avseende säkring av finansiella instrument som finns i IAS 39 leder till en svårare jämförelse mellan företagen. Men det ger däremot en möjlighet att redogöra för en mer rättvisande bild av företagens verksamhet utifrån hur de bedömer att företaget speglas bäst. Värdering till verkligt värde av de flesta finansiella instrumenten ger en mer relevant och aktuell bild, men är problematisk om det inte finns en aktiv marknad. En konsekvens av den administrativt krävande IAS 39 är att de undersökta bankerna har minskat sitt användande av säkringsredovisning vilket leder till en ökad riskexponering. Bankerna upplever att IASB inte har tagit hänsyn till hur bankernas verksamhet fungerar i praktiken. Detta tyder på att det finns ett glapp mellan den normativa grundtanken bakom IAS 39 och den praktiska tillämpningen av standarden i bankerna.

    Abstract [en]

    This study is about how the dialog can help students with special needs to feel participation and inclusion in the class and the teaching. My purpose with this study was to look for how the students with special needs interact with other students and teachers through the dialogue. I also wanted to know if there is any positive and negative effects to teaching students with special need in the classroom compared with the teaching at the special teacher.

    I have taking purpose of the sociocultural theory in my study because it says that children learn together when they communicate with each other. The theory central words are dialog and scaffolding in the zone of proximal development. I also describe central words like participation, inclusion and students with special needs in the special teaching.

    I have investigated in four interviews, two of them were with a teacher and a special aids teacher, and two of them were students with special needs. I wanted to compare the teachers answer with the student’s answer about participation and including of student with special needs. I also did observations to see how the students with special needs where participation and including in the teaching.

    In my result I was found that both of the two students with special needs can feel participation and including through the dialogue in the teaching and in the class, even though they go to the special aid teacher for a while every day. I also found out in my study that students with special needs want to go to the special aid teacher because it is calm there but one of them also wanted to have the special teaching in the classroom instead, so he/she can work where her/his friends are.

    Abstract [en]

    I have dedicated this essay in researching the journal Palettskrap founded by students at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in 1877. Palettskrap consists of notes, protocols and a variety of images such as portraits, illustrations and satirical cartoons. My purpose has specifically been to see how the conflict of the woman artist is articulated during the late 1800's in a student journal such as Palettskrap, and also more generally, how the woman's role in society is articulated. I have primarily analyzed images but I have also exposed text from Palettskrap which has been relevant to my subject matter. By using Roland Barthes' semiotics, I have analyzed the images' expression and message. For a gender-sensitive and critical eye on the art historical context, I have applied feminist theory which has been useful in deconstructing the masculine myth on modernism and ”the artist”. My research shows that there are two established stereotypes/categories of the woman artist: the ”unwomanly” artist and the ”amateur”. These two stereotypes reflect the bourgeois notions of womanhood/femininity as incompatible with the role of the artist.

    Introduction: Modigliani and Miller theorem is regarded as a milestone and a paradigm shift in Corporate Finance. The research behind the theorem has given rise to the controversial conclusion that a company's capital structure is irrelevant in an equilibrium market, without taxation. In contrast, when taxation occurs firm value will increase equivalent to the deductible tax on interest expense when debt is issued. The theorem has not been without criticism. Several researchers have examined the theorem and criticised its assumptions.

    Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate the Modigliani and Miller theorem in respect of capital structure’s impact on companies' share prices.

    Literature Review: The Modigliani and Miller theorem with its assumptions is initially presented as the study’s main theorem. The presentation of the theorem is followed by a description of agency theory, signalling theory, trade-off theory and the efficient market hypothesis, along with previous studies on the theorem and its assumptions.

    Research Methodology: The study applies a quantitative approach, with three regression models. The random sample consists of ten companies in the industrial sector, that are listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The sample is based on panel data of the companies during the period 2005 to 2012. The study's empirical data consists of historical stock prices and annual reports.

    Empirical Results: The leverage ratio, i.e. debt to equity ratio, indicates a low and non-signif-icant correlation with the stock prices of the examined companies, in all three regression models. The tax shield indicates a higher and significant correlation with the stock price, while the control variable earnings per share EPS indicates the highest correlation with the stock prices, as the response variable.

    Conclusions: The study’s results show no empirical support for the Modigliani-Miller theorem in its entirety. The explanation for the findings may be that the assumptions are not satisfied in the empirical data. Agency theory, signalling theory, trade-off theory and the efficient market hypothesis may serve as explanations of the study’s results.
