    This contribution traces the emergence, Gleichschaltung, expansion and demise of the Nordische Gesellschaft [Nordic Society] with a special focus on its leading protagonist Alfred Rosenberg. In the beginning of the article, the history of ideas and the organisational foundations of the society are being set as a background. In the main part of the text the Nordische Gesellschaft’s activity during the “Third Reich” and under Rosenberg’s auspices is being analysed. Sources used comprise both archival material as well as the NG’s own publications.

    Abstract [en]

    This study is concerned with the description of the semantic and pragmatic characteristics of the attributive adjective self-proclaimed, employing corpus-linguistic methodology to explore its meaning from user-based data. The initial query provided the material from which a lexical pro-file of the target word was constructed, systematically describing collocational data, semantic preferences, semantic associations and discourse prosodies. Qualitative analysis of sample con-cordances illustrated the role of the target word in expressing different kinds of meaning-bearing stances. The results demonstrate the importance of context and communicative functionality as constraints determining meaning, determining the discourse prosodies of self-proclaimed as one of either negation; accepted-positive and accepted-negative. Further, the analysis of self-proclaimed as a stance marker indicates the linking evaluative meanings of extended lexical units to the project of linguistic description of intersubjective stancetaking as a possibly fruitful venue for research

    Abstract [en]

    As globalization becomes a more and more recognized phenomenon with an increased flow of goods, people and information across nations’ boarders, the way we communicate is influenced. The act of communication has turned from more traditional means of communicating correctly between mostly native speakers to newer ways where the main goal is to achieve understanding between participants, whether they have the same origin or not. One language that is specifically affected by this is the English language, which is taught in Swedish schools as a major school subject. In regard to this, the aim of this degree project was to investigate how the Swedish policy documents governing the English subject education contributes to the language socialization of students in becoming a certain type of language user. The questions which were posed in order to reach an understanding of this were the following:

    • Which conceptions of the students’ communicative competence could be seen in Lgr 11 and other policy documents governing the English subject education in compulsory school between the students’ fifth and seventh year of school?
    • Which language practices were presented for the students’ language usage in Lgr 11 and other policy documents governing the English subject education in compulsory school between the students’ fifth and seventh year of school?
    • Which contexts were presented for the students’ language usage in Lgr 11 and other policy documents governing the English subject education in compulsory school between the students’ fifth and seventh year of school?  

    These questions were answered in accordance with a second language socialization perspective and theories about communicative competence, functions of English and context, through a discourse analysis focused on the positioning of the subject.

    The results of this study were that the student was positioned both as a novice and an advanced language user of the English language without any direct connection between the two. This could be seen based on how the students were expected to make initial contacts with the English language whilst the policy documents at the same time present an abstractedly formulated communicative competence with an emphasis on the students’ ability to use aspects of it in relation to the whole of it. Furthermore could be deduced that the teacher’s competence and ability to scaffold the students’ learning were determinant for the language user shaped by the English teaching as the policy documents only covers certain functions of the English language and aspects of contexts.

    Abstract [en]

    This text deals with the shooting of a movie comedy. The author of this text was script writer as well as director. The film was extremely dependent upon the interpretation of the role of the leading female character, but the director and the leading actress, in spite of their willingness to cooperate, were unable to understand each other, and no creative meeting ever occurred.

    The film dealt, in amused distance, with male and female strategies and shortcomings, but the lack of understanding between the director and the leading actress caused the subtleties of the text disappear, so that when the film was ready it was possible to interpret it in a way that partly opposed its intentions.

    From the director’s point of view different aspects of the situation are investigated: what could she /should she have done? What are the obstacles for a better understanding? Is ”understanding” dependant only upon that which is verbal? Should the director not only be a director but also a kind of therapist? What is professional and what is private? Could a director who wasn´t also the script writer have seen other solutions? And how does it affect you as a female director never to have role models, only a very clear idea of what you don’t want your professional role to look like.

    The director thought she was being constantly compromising, but finds out she was not, she had only a different, and in appearance, friendly but manipulative strategy in trying to reach her goal: that of enforcing and implementing her personal interpretation of the script.

    The role of director is also a role, and must be played. Men and women often do it in very different ways. Much more is permitted for men, in the name of”art.” The role of the artist is as such, defined by men. Women are expected to be reasonable and the (their) stage for action appears to be more limited. This is what is expected of them, and is also what many women try to live up to, often in direct conflict with their own interests. It is important to become a less reasonable but clearly defined person.  This often requires training. To become a good director you need knowledge, empathy and experience gained through many mistakes, and not least, you need what Aritsoteles calls fronesis.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of the study was to examine how teachers and children interpreted the project and understood its values. To this end, it was necessary to focus on four defining parameters which affect the investigation: structure of pre-school project work, content and delivery, the methods used by teachers during the project, which pedagogical documentation was used (and how), and how the project determined the approach, the curriculum goals and values. Using a qualitative approach, regular unsystematic observations were made over five days, during which three teachers, two pedagogues, two pre-school teachers, and one nanny from the same kindergarten were interviewed regarding children in three age groups: 1-2 years old, 3 years old, and 4-5 years old. The results of my investigation showed that the teachers were divided on how to apply the project as a working method. Children's active role in the pre-school project varied depending on the extent to which teachers adopted children perspective in everyday practice. The teachers used the documentation to evaluate, make visible processes of learning in children and reflect on the educational work of the projects.

    Abstract [en]

    There is a great increase of the number of children in Swedish preschools and in the same time there is less resources. With the increase of the size of the group of children we have a growth of greater anxiety. The teachers in Swedish preschool experience a lot of running around and conflicts. This means that the teachers strives to find a new way to decrease the anxiety and conflicts among the children. The purpose of my study is to examine how one preschool carried out a change process in their indoor environment concerning the room, furniture and material. The purpose is also to study how children’s social interaction is affected by the new environment, there communication and interaction that is between child –child and child- environment which is a great deal of importance to a child’s learning process. This interaction between children stimulates their language which in its turn stimulates the children´s thinking. An important deal in interaction is the environment. The environment has an important part in stimulating the children´s development and learning. My method has included qualitative interviews and the study is done on a preschool with five informants which are teachers. The result of the study shows that to get a successful changing process the leaders has to be inspiring and perceptive. The leaders need to give their collaborators the time to go through every step of the changing process. The preschool Solrosen is keen on offering an accessible, inspiring and challenging indoor environment for children to develope in their own pace. After the preschools changing process, their indoor environments is no longer like a home, instead it has become a place for children to be inspired, creative and develope into individuals.

    Före Berlinmurens fall var DDR och dess ökända säkerhetstjänst Stasi en maktfaktor i Europa. Journalisten Christoph Andersson har grävt i arkiven och hittat uppgifter om dess svenska kopplingar.På 80-talet ville regeringen Palme exportera svensk kärnvapenteknologi till DDR. Ärendet var kontroversiellt, men den enda som började nysta i frågan var Rapportjournalisten Cats Falck. Hon upp­täckte ett mystiskt östtyskt företag som skulle vara mellanhand. I november 1984 försvann hon spårlöst och hittades senare död.Lika mystiskt dog krigsmaterielinspektören Carl Algernon. Det var under efterdyningarna av Bofors omstridda export av krut och sprängämnen till Iran via DDR. Men också efter att Bofors i hemlighet tillverkat krut till östtyska folkarméns Kalasjnikovgevär. Även här figurerade ett mystiskt östtyskt företag. I båda affärerna hade DDR:s säkerhetstjänst Stasi sina fingrar med i spelet. Stasi gav sig även in i frågan om immunsjukdomen aids. Målet var att få aids att framstå som ett hemligt amerikanskt bio­logiskt vapen. Filmregissören Roy Andersson var snabb att svälja betet och bakade in idéerna i en upplysningsfilm, bekostad av Socialstyrelsen.Men den kanske största Stasioperationen blev en flopp. Den gick under namnet Operation Norrsken och skulle kompromettera det svenska kungahuset för dess gamla förbindelser med Nazityskland. Allt avblåstes i sista stund när Stasi och DDR insåg att det fanns pengar att tjäna. Närmare bestämt genom att göra ljusskygga affärer med svenska Asea, Bofors - och den socialdemokratiska regeringen Palme.

Dess främsta mål var att stoppa stiftet i Småland från att stödja kristna regimkritiker i öst.

    Beate Zschäpe, 38, sitter i en domstol i München och tiger, iklädd en mörk businessdress och med håret utslaget. Det har hon gjort sedan 2013, åtalad för delaktighet i tio mord, flera bankrån och två bombattentat, begångna mellan 1999 och 2011. Här skulle också hennes kumpaner Uwe Mundlos och Uwe Böhnhardt ha suttit, men både hade dött under mystiska omständigheter 2011.

    Trion gick under namnet NSU, Nationalsozialisticher Untergrund. Målet var att bli en brun motsvarighet till RAF, Röda arméfraktionen, med Lasermannen John Ausonius som inspirationskälla. Men också svenska NRA, Nationella revolutionära armén Tony Olsson, Jackie Arklöv, Andreas Axelsson och andra militanta högerextremister i Sverige.

    Det här är berättelsen om trion och ett bakomliggande högerextremt nätverk, med förgreningar till Norden. Likaså om hur det indirekt stöddes av den tyska säkerhetspolisens Författningsskydd. Beate Zschäpe har goda skäl att tiga, men vill samtidigt gärna berätta om alla sina år i terrorcellen. Frågan är om hon ska våga ta bladet från munnen.

    This essay examines how the critical reception of French nouveaux réaliste-artist Raymond Hains 1961 exhibition La France déchirée has been articulated at two historically separate occasions.

    In her 2010 book Nouveau Réalisme, 1960’s France and the Neo-avant-garde, art historian Jill Carrick examines the fundamental impact the founder of nouveau réalisme – French art critic and theorist Pierre Restany – has had on the movement’s historical reception. According to Carrick Restanys writing established an interpretive framework that remained more or less intact for several decades. In addition to a closer analysis of the movement’s critical reception during the 1960s’, Carrick provides a set of new, alternative readings of a number of nouveaux réaliste artworks, which all originates from a position outside of Restanys interpretive framework. However, at no occasion does Carrick show in what way, or to what extent, her theories about the movements reception history applies to artist Raymond Hains or his practise of décollage. Nor has the historical reception of La France déchirée been examined.

    The overall purpose of this essay is to examine whether or not the nature of the critical reception of Raymond Hains 1961 exhibition La France déchirée can be said to fit into the image of the historical reception of nouveau réalisme provided by Carrick. This is done through an analysis of Restanys theorisation of nouveau réalism as provided in the movement’s manifestos. Thereafter follows an examination of in which way and to what extent the critical reception of La France déchirée at two historically separate moments relates to this theorisation. The critical reception of these two moments in time is also compared to each other.

    An analysis of the exhibitions historical reception showed that Carrick’s theory of the movement’s reception history could not entirely account for the different aspects of La France déchirées critical reception. By introducing the exhibitions political context into the examination of its historical reception, a new and valuable perspective became clear. Unlike other nouveax réaliste-artworks, La France déchirée had a distinct political character, which situated its historical reception not only within a cultural context, but more importantly within a political one.

    Abstract [en]

    This thesis examines the use of history, historical narratives and the relation to Venezuelan historical consciousness in Libro Rojo, a publication of The Unified Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). It consists of four parts: an introduction, a declaration of principles, statutes and finally what is called the programmatical bases (bases programaticas) of the party.

    A starting point for this thesis is that this is an under prioritized area of research about the Bolivarian revolution in Venezuela. It aims to show the centrality of history in these fundamental documents of the biggest left-wing party in Latin America.

    The thesis finds that symbolically charged historical figures – mainly national icons of Venezuela´s struggle for national liberation - are mobilized to back up contemporary aspirations and influence public perception of what kind of future is possible and desirable. Libro Rojo structures the relationship between past, present and future in order to influence historical consciousness.

    It also finds that Libro Rojo constructs a vision of socialism which aims to show that the ideas and actions of Venezuela´s symbolically charged historical figures are compatible with the ideas of 19th and 20th century western Marxism. An illustration of this is the reference to Peruvian Marxist José Carlos Mariáteguí and his saying that socialism on the American continent can neither be an imitation nor a copy of foreign models, but a heroic creation of the people. Furthermore in Libro Rojo, the ideas of liberation theology, Christianity as well as "all universal and humanist thought" are evoked as foundations for the contemporary aspirations of the PSUV.

    The present is situated within a context of contemporary history in which themes such as the struggle of the peoples against neoliberalism and the threats to the survival of humanity due to climate changes, economic crisis and war are central. It describes a near future in which humanity will have a choice: between its salvation and flourishing through socialism, or its extinction through world capitalism.
