    Abstract [en]

    Background

    The resent study in this paper is founded on the balance between the act to manage employees through non-financial control factors without risking to decrease the company’s productivity. The Autonomy paradox has led us to a discussion where management control systems, concatenated with self-management and competitive advantages, has backfired and tempt to be too “lose” Merchant & Van der Stede (2007) and non finansial way of leading (Hoeven & Zoonen, 2015). Recent studies has been made where it is claimed that the non-financial factors must be balanced against financial factors (Butler, Price, Coates, & Pike, 1998).

    Competitive advantage is by Robert Simons mentioned to be benefited as the company’s employees gets the space to act on their own lore. Jonna Bornemark at the campus Södertörn in Stockholm, have recently mentioned in her book “The immeasurable renaissance” 2018 that the administrational society has tended to increase it is capability of measuring work performance. Hacker (2017) explain this phenomenon by pointing on the progress that digitalt managementsystem has gone through sins the period around 2008.

    Can we through that this discussion show an increase of the use of “lose” (Merchant & Van der Stede 2007) managementsystems in Swedish project company’s in the las nine-year period.

    Problem

    Does the project organization's job descriptions from 2010 to 2018 seal an increased incidence of non-financial control factors / Strategic boundary systems and an increased incidence of Operational boundary systems?

    Purpose

    The purpose of this paper is to get an understanding for how employees aspiration and progress of digital management systems have led managers to use new ways of evaluating employee performance.

    Results and conclusions

    The result as mentioned above is visualized in quantitative data there we can show that there has been a small entrance of a new non-financial factor category in the empirical material. Beyond the non-financial factor categories, quality, sustainability, delivery and efficiency, the factor Risk has started to emerge by the year 2012.

    Method

    By analyzing an empirical material which represent each year between 2010 – 2018. We will with help of the theoretical framework show a difference in presence of categories of non- financial factors. The study theoretical framework will be grounded on a qualitative discussion where previously completed research studies is used to get an understanding for how non- financial factors can be visualized. This study will therefore take a quantitative approach to visualize how these factors have increase or decrease.

    The risk factor has albeit modest started to be a part of the responsibility area that self-management employees need to handle in their work situation.
