Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze how ongoing organizational changes within the Swedisch Church affects its musical activities in parishes.

Method: The study is based on interviews and publicated sources.

Conclusion: Church musicians as a group are a powerful and vital resource for the Swedish Church.
