Abstract [sv]

Jag gör i denna uppsats en fallstudie om hur fritidspedagogerna på en mellanstor grundskola kan tänkas tolka sitt uppdrag i den verksamhet de arbetar i, fritidshemmet. Bakgrundskapitlet inleds med att beskriva fritidshemmets historia med syftet att förklara varför det finns fritidshem idag och varför denna skolbarnomsorg numera kan sägas vara en utbildningsverksamhet i grundskolan. Det avslutande i det bakgrundstäckande kapitlet är en specifikt framtagen presentation av de styrdokument som fritidshemmet idag lyder under.

Det specifika med denna presentation är således att styrdokumenten blir presenterade med syftet att försöka lyfta fram det som Skolverket föreskriver vara fritidshemmets och dess pedagogers uppdrag.

I uppsatsens rapport redovisas och analyseras fyra intervjuer jag gjort med fritidspedagogerna i en mellanstor grundskola. Sammanfattningsvis kan dessa pedagogers tankar om deras uppdrag sägas vara lika när de återger vad de i sin verksamhet ska erbjuda sina elever. En trygg miljö som eleverna får en möjlighet att bara vara i. De vill erbjuda en utvecklande miljö där eleverna både får göra det de tycker om och bli utmanade i olika aktiviteter de tidigare inte gjort. De anser att de är där för deras elevers skull. Eleven ska vara i centrum och elevens hela dag ska vara i fokus, inte enbart tiden på fritidshemmet utan även den skolsamverkan som de utför. I rapporten framkommer det att de intervjuade pedagogerna tolkar sina uppdrag olika beroende på vilken bakgrund eller utbildning de har.

Pedagogerna anser att de inte arbetar tillräckligt ofta med styrdokumenten. Men att en del av uppdraget, exempelvis värdegrundsarbetet, kan sägas "sitta i väggarna". Däremot kommer de att arbeta mer med dessa, nu när en förstelärare kommit till skolan. Denne har förordat ett tydliggörande av deras verksamhet.

Abstract [en]

This paper analysis conducts a study of how the recreational pedagogue might interpret his or her own, as well as the recreation centers assignment, given by the government.

The background of this study describes the history behind the recreation centers, in order to give a clearer description of the assignment that the recreational pedagogues have.

This paper provide an analysis of four recreational pedagogue’s thoughts, beliefs and their own interpretation of the earlier mentioned assignment.

To have a safe and secure environment is one idea these four pedagogues share with each other, when they describe their assignment. The combination of having a safe and secure environment and to care for their students can summarize what they think is the essence of their assignment. That and to provide an environment that is challenging for their students throughout the whole of the day.

They do mention that the learning they are supposed to provide is not based out of a theoretical knowledge, it is more of a practical, more creative knowledge. To play with each other or by your own, in planned or not planned activities, are also highly valued at the recreational center.

This essay also examines how the pedagogues make use of the official policy documents. Do they assist them in the interpretation of their assignment, or not? The pedagogues’ use of these documents are to this day poorly executed. A first teacher is now working together with the pedagogues for the purpose to give them guidance and at the same time clarify the organization with help and support from the official documents.

The interviewed pedagogues describe the effects of their background, their education in this work, while working at the recreational center as well as providing us a picture of how it has affected their organization and theirs assignment.

The above mentioned policy documents are presented with the purpose of giving a clearer image of the assignment for the recreational center, how they affect the center in the planning of activities and the execution of the assignment.
