Abstract [en]

I my paper, I will discuss Finnish textbooks in Romany as a genre. On the one hand they preserve conservative linguistic features, which have been lost in spoken language, and on the other hand, Finnish mor-phological and syntactic structures are replicated and there are structural and lexical innovations. Some of the Roma, who have produced textbooks, have been acquainted with other European Romani dialects. As a result, the textbooks contain linguistic features that are foreign to Finnish Romani.
