This study was conducted with the aim of looking into whether there is an association between sustainability performance and profitability in the Swedish real estate industry. The method used in this study is a quantitative cross-sectional design with a deductive approach. The study analyzed data collected from 101 observations from 22 different Swedish real estate companies. These observations, along with previous research, served as the foundation for the analysis and discussion of the study’s findings. The results were categorized into three different categories of real estate companies. Commercial properties show that better sustainability performance correlates with increased profitability. The other two categories, residential and community properties, show that there is no association between the variables of sustainability performance and profitability. 

Denna studie var genomförd utifrån syftet att undersöka huruvida det finns ett samband mellan ekologisk hållbarhetsprestanda och lönsamhet inom den svenska fastighetsbranschen. Metoden studien använder sig av är en kvantitativ tvärsnittsdesign som följer en deduktiv ansats. Undersökningens resultat utgörs av 101 observationer från 22 svenska fastighetsbolag. Observationerna och tidigare forskning ligger till grund för analysen som diskuterar studiens utfall. Resultaten delas in i tre olika kategorier av fastighetsbolag där kommersiella fastigheter visar att bättre ekologisk hållbarhetsprestanda leder till högre lönsamhet. De två andra kategorierna, bostadsfastigheter och samhällsfastigheter, visar att det inte finns något samband mellan variablerna ekologisk hållbarhetsprestanda och lönsamhet.
