This essay examines five short Swedish videos, produced by Binogi, used in religious education to explore the view of humanity (“människosyn”) in the five so called worldreligions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism). The study looks at what narrative about “us" and "them” exist, and how “our” and “their” ideas of gender, culture and religiosity are portrayed. Furthermore, a discourse analysis is made of the material analyzing to what degree these depictions reflect an orientalist discourse.
