Abstract [en]

This article is related to an essential aspect of modern pedagogy of sustainable development – namely, its development in Sweden.

This country was one of the first to support the idea of sustainability. Within the framework of this article, the author clarified the concept of «sustainable development»; the role of religious education in the implementation of sustainable development ideas in Swedish primary schools are outlined; the views of one of the vital Swedish educators of the XX century E. Key to the role of Religious Education and its influence on the «sustainable development» of students is characterised.
