Image Creation in the leisure center : A qualitative work on on the working methods of trained and untrained leisure workers in image making activities and how image- making contributes to student`s development (English)
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to depict whether image creation in the leisure centre has a positive impact on students’ development. The aim was also to identify whether leisure pedagogue, educated or uneducated working methods vary. As a basis for this study, we have started with the information we have obtained via observations of the creative activities of the leisure centres. We have also started from previous reserarch and theoretical perspectives, John Dewey’s theory of knowledge and education and Lev S Vygotskij’s theory of imagination and creativity to answer our questions. As a mothod, we have choesen to use observation becaouse we believe that with observation you gain time, especially forthose of us who work and study at the same time. Results of our study show that environment, materials and tools are important for creation to take place. The results also show that when the educator creates an environment where students have the opportunity to talk to each other and hear new words and concepts, it affects the students’ language development. Furrtheremore, we concluded that students show interest in image making aktivities, we saw this when students showed commitment an curiosity by asking many questions an talking about associating thoughts. Furthermore, the results show that the leisure pedagogues' way of working in image creation, varies depending on their experience, interest, education, and competence.
