The religious studies have changed through the years. The debate around religious knowledge extitence has been discussed. This study is based on a qualitative text analysis and the aim is to investigate how the presentation of religious studies in upper high school has been based on lgy65 up to lgy11. Based onthe methodological approach, the focus is on ensuring how the content is presented and how these canbe put in relation to the societal context that is currently legitimate. The theoretical point for this study isbased on curriculum theory with emphasis on three curriculum codes. The curriculum codes are: Moral, democratic and scientific-rational codes. The results show that presentation in the religious studies has changed under the revised curriculums. Emphasis on Christianity and non-Christian religions is illustrated in lgy65 and lgy70, while in the later revised curriculum it has opened up for other world religions. Christianity still remains a central part of the curriculum, but world religions and worldviews may take a larger place in lpf94 and lgy11.
