Denna studie syftar till att undersöka sambandet mellan börsnoterade företags hållbarhetsarbete och deras lönsamhet, vilket undersöktes genom att först använda sig av en korrelationsmatris följt av tre stycken regressionsanalyser. Studien nyttjade multipel regressionsanalys för att besvara en av de specifika underfrågor som används för att besvara studiens huvudfråga. Empirin utgörs av Folksams hållbarhetsindex 2013.

Den teoretiska referensramen hade sin utgångspunkt i intressentteorin, agentteorin och legitimitetsteorin. Det tre teorierna vävdes samman med tidigare forskning om hållbarhet och finansiell lönsamhet. Det observerade resultatet som erhölls från studiens regressionsanalyser var inte statistiskt signifikanta, därmed finns inget som styrker att hållbarhetsredovisning påverkar lönsamhet. 

The purpose was to examine the correlation between public companies registered CSP and CFP. This was examined through the use of a Correlation matrix and the use of multiple regression analysis. These were then used to answer the studies specific subquestions which in combination with one another related to the main topic which is correlation between CSP and CFP. The data was provided by Folksam from their sustainability index from 2013. 

The study’s results are discussed from the theoretical framework, consisted of stakeholder theory, agency theory and legitimacy theory. The data was ambiguous and therefore no conclusion can be drawn as to whether these factors correlating to one another.
