Abstract [en]

Previous research shows that there is a varied approach to the science subject because the students can not relate to the content of the teaching. This is because science education does not follow the students' interests and experiences. Anders Jidersjö is one of the researchers referred to in this work. He believes that the content of teaching plays into the students' decreased interest in science because it does not follow society's development. Instead, it focuses on topics, the activities are usually written based and contain few practical features (2012). It was therefore of great interest to use aesthetic learning processes in the survey. Anders Burman describes aesthetic learning processes as different processes where you learn something new or deepen your knowledge of something (2014). I therefore used drama as an activity to give the students opportunity to mediate their knowledge using their experiences. It was also interesting to share the students' thoughts and reflections on their perception of the use of aesthetic learning processes in science education.

The final result shows that the students were positive about using aesthetic learning processes in science. However, there were divided opinions about whether aesthetics can be related to natural sciences. The students separated aesthetics and science, and related aesthetics to the subject of arts. It is likely that this view is due to the fact that students read individual subjects in school. It is also possible that perceptions of the aesthetic and natural sciences reflect the teaching, which the students have embraced. It was clear, however, that the drama activity the students performed influenced them positively. The aesthetic activity contributed to the students being able to express their own experience and knowledge, which for several students gave the feeling of being able to it themselves.
