Abstract [en]

I have studied my research with the help of a qualitative method of data collection that I have analyzed with the phenomenographic approach; the purpose was to investigate how teachers experience the influence of secularization in religious education. The interviewed teachers perceive that the students previously had a reasonable knowledge of what Christianity was, but that this knowledge have disappeared because of secularization. This has caused complications in religious education for both students and teachers. Among other things is the absence of a religious identity the reason for a division between non-believers and believers, there is a greater relationship between the students who have a religious background than those who do not have a religious background. There is a greater interest in the teaching of Christianity today among pupils than it was earlier in the 1980-90 century because the secularization has made Christianity as exotic as other religions, students know as much about Christianity as other religions.

Abstract [sv]

I min undersökning har jag med hjälp av en kvalitativ metod genomfört en datainsamling som jag sedan har analyserat med den fenomenografiska ansatsen, syftet var att undersöka om hur lärare upplever sekulariseringens påverkan i religionsundervisningen.

De intervjuade lärarna upplever att eleverna tidigare hade någorlunda kunskaper om vad kristendom var, men att dessa kunskaper har försvunnit på grund av sekulariseringen. Detta har medfört komplikationer i religionsundervisningen både för elever och lärare. Bland annat är avsaknaden av en religiös identitet grunden för en splittring mellan de icke troende och de troende, det finns en större samhörighet mellan de elever som har en religiös bakgrund än med de elever som inte har en religiös bakgrund. Det finns ett större intresse för kristendomens undervisning idag bland elever än vad det fanns tidigare på 1980–90 talet på grund av att sekulariseringen har gjort kristendomen lika exotiskt som andra religioner, elever känner till lika mycket om kristendomen som andra religioner.
