Abstract [en]

According to previous research there is no doubt about the existence of genderrole stereotypes. These stereotypes have been described as an obstacle for women to reach management positions largely because the stereotypes assigned to women are not deemed as leader characteristics. This study aims to examine how women who have reached these positions actually lead to explore the possibility to lead with stereotypical female attributes. This is examined by interviewing eight employees in the male dominated construction industry and more specific the construction company NCC. The employees were asked questions to describe their female managers. The study shows that the majority of the examined managers primarily display characteristics typically assigned to women.
