The sense of having a good leisure pedagogical work situation : A qualitative study of factors that contribute to a good work situation in leisure time centers today (engelsk)
Abstract [en]

Employee surveys in Stockholm indicate that educators at the schools are not satisfied with their work situation. In society, voices are being raised against cuts in the school as well as in the leisure centers. Research over the last decade indicates that there is an imbalance in the status relationship between school and leisure centers, and many newly trained teachers at leisure centers feel doubtful about a professional role with excessive demands. With interviews of school leaders and educators at leisure centers, I have found in this qualitative study that the sense of context (KASAM) in the professional role is influenced by how meaningful the educators perceive their role. A meaningfulness that is based on what resources school leaders can provide to understand and manage the demands that leisure educators face every day.
